Review of Bier Garten

Bier Garten
Ranked #80 of 5,346 Restaurants in San Antonio
Price range: $7 - $15
Cuisines: German, Bar, Grill
Description: Welcome to a taste of Bavaria and the historic Oktoberfest, right here in San Antonio! The San Antonio Riverwalk is one of the top tourist attractions in the U.S. Ours is a multicultural city, which includes a strong German heritage. Now you can experience our rich German culture and hospitality at one of the Riverwalk's newest and most entertaining attractions - the San Antonio Biergarten. Close to the Alamo, shaded by our native live oak trees, the Biergarten offers authentic Bavarian fare, including sausages, pretzels, kraut and ice cold beers (we have one of the largest selections of import and craft beer on the Riverwalk). Wine is also available, and while you might have a hard time finding Margaritas in Germany, you can find them here-after all, this IS San Antonio! Relax with friends and have a fun-filled Oktoberfest experience right here in the River City. Enjoy our beautiful outdoor setting with umbrellas, waterfalls, beautiful foliage, and the babbling San Antonio river. Or if you prefer, come inside for air-conditioned comfort. Our beautiful beer maidens will take care of you in a festive atmosphere, accompanied by German and local music on weekends, including Oktoberfest karaoke. Savor the Riverwalk experience! Have a sausage, raise a glass with friends, immerse yourself in the rich German heritage of our beautiful city. Biergarten awaits you! PROST!

Have yet to see this place not jumping. Always a crowd enjoying good German beers and food. My favorite is the Curry Wurst. The staff hustles all the time.

Went on a Thursday evening. Four waitresses for a very minimal crowd. Waited ten minutes for waitress to take order. They were too busy chatting with each other. Then sat over forty minutes waiting for food. When it didn’t come we left. Watched another table wait over ten minutes for waitress to come pick up credit card.
Lousy service equals lousy review.

The Bier Garten is a great place to get some good German style food and beer. We stopped off for lunch and had a couple of brews to cool off given that it was approximately 100 degrees that afternoon. The service was good given that they were short staffed but Lexy did a great job taking care of us. Go early in the afternoon because it will get packed for the dinner and evening crowd. I would certainly recommend the Bier Garten! Prost!!

Had a great time at Bier Garten. This was our first time there and we were served by Elizabeth. She was great! We stopped for some drinks and did not eat there, so I can't comment on the food. Beer was cold and served quickly. Will definitely stop by again.
