Courtyard San Antonio North/Stone Oak at Legacy

When we first arrived, it seemed very nice and the staff was very helpful. I booked through hotels.com. When we got to our room, it seemed clean and nicely furnished. However, the trouble started once I tried to fall asleep. The mattress was great but the pillows have NO support. You sink right in and all the way down to the mattress. Like one reviewer said, the AC is loud but not loud enough to drown out every noise coming from outside our room. We were on the 3rd floor and could hear car doors shutting as well as every footstep in the hallway. When I stood in the bathroom, I could hear the conversation of the people staying next door! I got about 2.5 hours of sleep in this place. As far as cleanliness, it seemed very clean but once you looked a little closer, it was gross. I even found an eyelash on the bar of soap that was still in it's little package! I was happy to leave but was exhausted. 3 days later, I'm looking at my credit card statement and I see a room charge from Courtyard and a room charge from hotels.com. I called the Courtyard and they insisted they didn't charge my card anything and that the hotels.com charge was the valid charge. They asked if they could put me on hold and then they hung up on me! So I called back and the asst. manager stated the same thing, that they didn't charge anything to my card. So I call hotels.com and they called the Courtyard themselves. Come to find out, the Courtyard staff accidentally charged my card but then immediately reversed it. It's going to take 5 days to see that extra room charge disappear. This place is ridiculous and I would never stay here again nor would I recommend it to anyone.

Stayed here for 4 nights in room 422. I got a good rate on Priceline ($60), thus the 4 stars. I don't think I will pay over $100 for this hotel. The hotel is fairly new and is right across from the Legacy Shopping Center (which is actually a strip mall with different restaurants). Some reviews complained about thin walls, but we didn't have any problems.

Pros:
- pretty big room and bathroom
- 2 big queen-sized bed and very comfortable!!!
- has microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker in the room.
- big closet
- nice flat screen TV with a good selection of channels
- close to freeways 281 and 1604
- day passes to Lifetime Fitness which has a big water slide structure and pool - saw many ppl there during our stay, but we didn't go.
- free wifi and wired internet access in the room, and a couple computers in the lobby
-friendly staff
Cons:
- A/C is pretty loud
- small swimming pool
- coffee maker was dirty
- mini fridge wasn't cold enough
- no free continental breakfast - costs $9.95 if you want it (they do cook your eggs to order)

Booked 2 weeks in advance 2 rooms because traveling with my teenage son and he wanted his own room, Called 2 days before and they were more than happy to assign us connectiong rooms on the 4th floor.
A little issue with the air conditioner and fridge getting cool at check in however maintence came right up to fix it, was fixed within 10 mins. A nice fieature is each room has a microwave and fridge
I know people complain about the breakfast being high $9.99 but for all you can eat its really not bad at all, and the tv did turn a bit so I could watch from the bed with no issues.
We stayed a week visiting Sea World, Fiesta Texas and the river walk and never had any problems commuting from the hotel.
On sundays across the street in the little shopping area (by starbucks) they have a famers market, we gort some fruit there and some canned goods.
Theres also coffee in the loby area free of charge 24 hrs a day. There is a fitness center onsite as well as access to lifetime fitness across the street (which ahas a mini water park but was not open yet for the season).

This is a new hotel that is across the street from the legacy mall. The rooms are really quiest and well appointed. The breakfast is not included at the base rate, but you are only a couple of minutes from Starbucks and a great smoothy shop at the mall. Best of all, the hotel provides fre access to the Lifetime Fitness gym. This is a really high end facility with EVERYTHING that you could want from a pool to cardio to weights. The hotel is just of the 1604 beltway but far enough away to be quiet. This is now a home base for us when in San Antonio..

This hotel is quite new. The furnishings are nice and the rooms are of a good size with a refrigerator and a little sitting area and desk area next to the bed. Some of the rooms have sofas and some of them have large chairs w/coffee tables.

The mattress was rather hard.

We could hear every footstep (thud on your head) the person above us took. We could also hear plainly any conversations going on in the hallway. The lack of soundproofing in a brand new hotel is pretty discouraging. Don't stay in a room close to the elevator, the elevator's electronic "dings" are unbelievably loud and are readily audible inside the rooms nearby.

The land line nor the ethernet worked nor could the staff get them working. The wireless internet worked fine, however.

I'd consider staying here again if there were no other alternative in the area and if I could get a room on the top floor corner. It is conveniently located right off of the northern loop. There were several restaurants nearby that delivered to the hotel.
