Location, accommodations and service were simply outstanding. The renovations/retrofit of the old Alamo State Bank were beyond expectations. The architects deserve maximum kudos. In the future we will check out Drury in other locations as well!

My wife and I stayed here early May 2014 and were pleased with the room. Hotel pluses were a reasonable room price, good location, a happy hour from 5:30 TO 7 PM offering three alcoholic drinks, sodas and a rotating offering of above standard appetizers. The breakfast buffet was basic but plentiful. Minuses were a non protected wifi (ethernet cord was available) and two tries to replace a broken in room coffee maker.

Room Tip: There are many hotels in San Antonio on or adjacent to Riverwalk so price compare.

We checked in around noon on Friday, but had to wait until 3p.m. before our room was ready. The hotel is beautiful and they have a good selection for breakfast. It's also right on the Riverwalk, so there was plenty to do. It's also walking distance to Ripleys, Childrens Museum and the Alamo. The only down side is that housekeeping did not clean our room during our 3 day stay. I'm not sure if that is part of the "go green" trend you are seeing at alot of places or what. We had some revelers that liked to hang out on the balcony and move the metal furniture around pretty late one night. The metal furniture "scooching" accross the concrete was loud and annoying, but they were having a good time. AND we were so tired from walking up and down the Riverwalk that it didn't take much for us to sleep. The price was par for the course.

We are very thankful that you selected the Drury Plaza Hotel Riverwalk for your recent visit to San Antonio, along with the time spent in writing a review regarding your experience on Trip Advisor.

We appreciate the wonderful comments about the hotel itself and our breakfast offering. However, I would like to apologize for not having a room prepared for your early arrival and the lack of housekeeping service during your visit. Typically we are able to meet the demand for early arrival, but in rare occasions we do receive more than we can accommodate prior to our suggested arrival time. Further, you should have received a light housekeeping service each day of your stay provided your room did not have a Do Not Disturb sign hanging on the door. It sounds as if our process failed. We will continue to monitor the process and utilize the issue as a training topic with our housekeeping team.

Again, thank you for the feedback and please accept my apology for our failure. Should your travel plans bring you back to San Antonio in the future, I would like to know and assist in making your stay one that reflects the level of service and accommodations that we strive for and proud of at Drury Hotels!

This is a beautifully restored building located right on the Riverwalk. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The rooms are very comfortable but there was a bit of noise from the trash trucks in the morning. Not too bad though. There is a charge for parking but the valets are very good and quick. Very reasonable for what you get.

We stayed at the Drury Plaza Hotel May 2-5, 2014 for a quick weekend visit. First off, we wanted a hotel with good reviews close to the riverwalk area. I couldn't make reservations online because it said there were no available rooms so I went ahead and called. They were able to reserve us a room after all which was great. It's a little pricey but the location was well worth it! You can take the stairs or elevators down to the basement and walk right out on the riverwalk. The hotel is very nice and clean. The only complaint I have of the facility is that our bathroom door didn't have a lock. Besides that everything was good, we even enjoyed the pool every night! I liked how you had to have your room key to access the elevator, just some added security. My brother lives in Pleasanton and came to the hotel to visit us and was able to park in the parking garage for the $21 valet fee, even though the website says one car per room, it wasn't an issue for him to park for the evening. The valet was fast and easy, I was afraid it'd be a hassle but we never felt rushed or anything. The 5:30pm Kickback was such an added bonus! Since we ate dinner late every night, it was nice for us to snack around a little bit for free

During our trip we stayed in San Antonio twice and this the first part of our stay. Having been to the Riverwalk a couple of times before I would say that there are better in the area for a similar price such as the Hyatt Regency.

The location of the hotel is really good, it is not in the main part of the Riverwalk which can be very crowded but is only a couple of minutes walk away. The hotel is a very grand building and is very impressive, especially when you first walk in. The rooms though could do with updating and apart from the tvs dont look like much has been done to them in a decade!

There is a fairly average gym available which actually was what caused us the most issue on our holiday. We unfortunately were in a room directly under the gym and from 5am onwards people were using this gym and it felt like they were going to come through the roof! Having used the running machine myself I knew that these were clunky loud machines in need of repair but having them being used directly above us made me realise how loud! In the end we gave up trying to sleep and had an early breakfast and asked to change room. This was granted but with no real attempt at an apology. Although moving solved the problem, it is little compensation having just arrived from the UK and still adjusting to the time difference to lose several hours sleep on your holiday and so we would have liked some compensation or more of an apology.

The breakfast is very good and the 5.30 kick back each day with free food and drinks is a great way to start the evening before heading down to the Riverwalk.

Overall, this is a decent hotel ignoring the issue which we had with sleep, but having stayed at others in the area I would definately look elsewhere when next in San Antonio.

Thank You for choosing to stay at the Drury Plaza Hotel Riverwalk on your recent trip to the San Antonio area, and for taking the time to share your experience on Trip Advisor. Our hotel clearly did not meet your expectations on room placement, nor ours. Further, please know that I have addressed the specific feedback regarding the lack of apology and/or compensation after your room change. It is our goal to treat any guest issue with extreme care and concern. Please accept my personal apology for failing to do so with you. The issue did allow for a great training topic with our front desk team. Again, thank you for your feedback.

I would love the opportunity to show you that we can "do it right." Should your travel plans bring you back to San Antonio in the future, I would like to know and assist in making your stay one that reflects the level of service and accommodations that we strive for and are proud of at Drury Hotels. Please do not hesitate to call me directly.

Thank you!

We held our annual conference at this hotel and could not be happier! The conference rooms were always set up and perfect, the snacks and drinks were fully stocked the whole time. The staff that assisted us with the conference and pre-planning were awesome and extremely helpful. We were so impressed that we booked the next year's conference here already.

As for the rooms - they were clean and very nice. I had the pleasure to stay in the old hotel tower and the new one on my second trip. Both towers were great and the rooms were clean. The towels were not the paper thin towels at most hotels, these were very nice.

Food and beverages were awesome! The hotel's breakfast buffet is the best I have had. The evening/happy hour drinks were great. The only issue we had was with the hotel front desk staff. It took us too long to check in and they were not very attentive or knowledgeable about our conference. They directed attendees to the wrong area and again, took way too long to process anything.

All-in-all it was a great stay and we will be back next year! Thanks everyone!!
