The hotel is very nice, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and everything is kept very clean. The room was fairly small, but very comfortable and the bathroom was larger than many. Street noise was a bit of a problem in the night as the hotel is bordered by three busy streets. The property is on the riverwalk, but is at the far west end, with most of the restaurants, the Alamo, La Viata, etc. on the east loop of the river. It is a bit of a walk, but pleasant along the river.

We stayed at the Drury Plaza for two nights last week!! What a great place! Great staff, free drinks 3 per person, hot breakfast, comfortable beds, clean and close to the riverwalk. The pool and hot tub on the 22nd floor is great, especially at night!

Our family of four (two parents, and a 7 & 9 year old), spent three nights at the Drury in a two-room suite with refrigerator, microwave. One window opened onto a construction site; the other overlooked the Riverwalk. We could hear the construction from our room but it didn't start until after wake-up time.

Drury's slogan "the extras aren't extra" proved to be true.

It was great to be able to phone home to pick up messages without worrying about phone charges. As well, the business center never had line ups for the four computers.

Best of all ... the very warm pool on the roof. We spent hours alternating between hot tub and pool.

We only took advantage of the evening drinks/snacks one night. We were a bit disappointed that the snacks were very light, as compared to other Drury locations that include spring rolls, salads and baked potatoes.

The building itself is beautiful.

This was our first time at a Drury. We'll definitely search them out as hotels of choice on other trips from Canada to the U.S.

Just returned home from a visit to San Antonio, and a flawless stay at the Drury Plaza hotel. This hotel is a restored bank building, and is absolutely beautiful. All the glory of the building has been restored, and preserved. Check in was a breeze and after stopping at our room ( which was immaculate) we headed up to the 22nd floor to take in the city view. The pool and hot tub area is also up there, so you have a marvolous view of the city.
We had a room on the 6th floor with a king bed and jacuzzi. Again, extremely clean and well kept, even the hallways were spotless and I am extremely picky about cleanliness in hotels.
The free breakfast buffet included eggs, sausage and gravy, pancakes, assorted muffins and pastries, cereals and yogurt.
The free happy hour included a good assortment of adult beverages (mixed drinks, beer and wine)as well as soda and coffee. Popcorn, nachos and veggies with dip were also offered on the buffet. The location on the riverwalk is good, not quite up by the action, but is less than a 5 minute walk to the hotspots. We found it to be rather soothing to go back there after a night of entertainment. As former Hyatt guests we are totally sold on the Drury, and will always stay here on future stays to our favorite city.

We arrived here on the 20th of January for 4 nights got a fabulous suite top floors and smoking as requested. First impression was great it is like walking into yesteryears in a modern way,if that makes sense. They really have taken a once glorious and rich bank and its settings and turned it to a really cool hotel without losing any of its spirit. The staff were exceptionally pleasant and helpful and we on our way to our room with our maps, invitation to complimentary evening reception and all we needed to know in less than 5 minutes. We had a fab suite, separate sitting room and large bathroom spotlessly clean and well stocked. Big comfy bedroom lots of windows so bright and cheerful and relaxing. Loads of in room extras free internet connection, free calls usa in the evening for a certain time and the fridge which was discreetly hidden was very handy. The evening reception was a very casual and relaxed affair with drinks and dips and it was pleasant after a long day out. The location is superb the hotel is on one end of the riverwalk but only a minutes walk to the thick of the action, you are surrounded by a great choice of bars and restaurants and shops.Everything you need is 2/3 minutes stroll away.
The rooftop pool is class i did'nt try it but the peace and scenery high above the city is very calming. This hotel is like a home away from home you do as you please with a helping hand and smiling face (and it was never false) right there whenever you wanted. Thanks to all at Drury Plaza

First let me say ignore the directions on the Drury site if you are coming from the airport. Get off on Commerce and stay on Commerce - the entrance is on Commerce just past St. Marys.

Once that little problem was solved, what a magnificent stay.

The staff was all friendly and helpful. And I mean all. You don't expect a smile and a greeting from every maintenance man you meet.

Fantastic room - ours had 6 windows. Ask for one of the "12's" if you get a choice.

Right on the River Walk, A short walk to the Mercado (go Sunday at noon if you can only go once and be sure to hit the bakery)

FREE - popcorn all afternoon & evening (just try to walk past the aroma
- happy hour with drinks & snacks every night - a great chance to meet your fellow travellers.
- hour of long distance per day
- internet connection plus computers and PRINTERS
- Breakfast - and we're not talking day old donut "Continental" breakfast.
- soft drinks & coffee 24/7

The renovations of the 4 story bank lobby is truly magnificent including the stained glass in the west window.

I spent one night here and enjoyed it. The lobby still resembles the original bank and is beautiful. The room wasn't very big, but the furnishings were nice. The bedding wasn't very high quality (something you might see in Motel 6) but other than that everything else was nice. The room even had a ceiling fan in it. The only complaint I had was, my room was a few doors down from the elevators, but I could hear the ding in my room. It even woke me up several times in the night. The bathroom was very classy. Also, everyone worker there was very friendly, everyone greeted me as I walked around. And the free breakfast was good!! I didn't get to see the swimming pool on the roof (it was too cold) but would definitely stay here again!!
