“Great food and a wonderful atmosphere!”
Reviewed December 19, 2012

This was my first visit to Mamacita's. The food was delicious. I had the fajitas mix chicken and beef. The meat was perfectly seasoned and the tortillas were fresh. They have their own tortillera, which makes the tortillas even better. The restaurant is huge so there is plenty of space for big parties. Enjoy and drink it up!

“Zorro was here”
Reviewed December 13, 2012

You know that they spent a few pesos on this place . . . from the mission like domed exterior to the all-in colonial hacienda of an interior. I halfway expected to see Don Diego de la Vega (Zorro) seated with his novia adorned in a lacey mantilla.

Lunches can be crowded with local captains of industry from the business corridor that is IH10. You can see the business deals, discussion of topics of great import, and interviews being conducted by jovial but otherwise deadly serious business suit clad participants.

I have been here several times for lunch, usually to participate in the aforementioned activity types, and very much appreciate the architecture and ambiance of this place. However, I am afraid my enamoration ends there.

The mexican food as others have mentioned is rather over-priced. When you have to pay the overhead for a place like this though, what do you expect! I also agree that the food plates I have had are just mediocre. The food tastes flat (though I really do like both flat and round food) and lacks any redeeming mexican food qualities that make you truly want more.

Come for a drink or two, to ogle the architecture and maybe do some people watching while you are at it. I do believe I saw a few Sgt. Garcia's (from Zorro again) though that were oblivious to the shape of the food and, from their outward rotundness seem like they must enjoy their meals here - several plates at a time!!

“Not good. Bland. Inauthentic.”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

A tourist trap at best. Food was bland, inauthentic. The green salsa looked like melted pistachio ice cream.

“Good Food and Cute Decor”
Reviewed November 20, 2012

Nice spot for dinner. Attentive staff, very good food and it felt like a central square for dining. Would return and suggest a stop here for reasonably priced, plentiful and tasty Mexican food.

“Fresh Tortillas”
Reviewed November 15, 2012

Oh my goodness, what a treat! You feel as if you have been transported south of the border. Beautiful surroundings, robotic Daniel Boone that plays the fiddle, hot warm tortillas made fresh, yummm! Awesome food and great service!
