Improved trails, carry maps at the main trail head with a nature hike code. Great views on San Antonio from the top. Lots of good parking and BBQ/Picnic setups.

This is a really nice park because there are multiple styles of trails. Paved, and rough terrain, short and long. The tower is pretty neat, and has a great view of all of San Antonio.

Great example of our native wilderness on great hiking trails and hills. I like the look out tower.

Great nature park but unlike many this one lets you bring dogs on the trails. It appeared that for the most part folks were cleaning up after their dogs (baggies provided but trash cans only in parking area).

Trails range from paved gentle slopes suitable for wheelchairs, to mulched pathways all the way up to rugged inclines that get your lungs pumping. Even in drought this park looked inviting and there was plenty of shade cover on the trails so hikers don't get baked.

There is a playground and quite a few picnic tables so this may be a better choice than Friedrich Park for a family outing.

Like anywhere in south Texas, bring plenty of water with you.
