Breakfast is what lets this hotel down and it loses stars as a result.
Canned fruits, eggs that were a bit cold even though I was standing there when the woman placed the new pan in the chafing dish, styrofoam (styrofoam!) cups instead of glasses, stale pastries and a general lack of selection.
I've stayed in some truly awful hotels over the years. I mean, I have stayed in places where I have slept in a tent in the room because the sheets were filthy and had visible bugs on them. I have stayed in hotels and not showered for a couple of days because the water coming out of the pipes was black and had bits of grass in it. Yet somehow even those hotels were able to provide a better breakfast selection than the Crockett Hotel. It just comes off as total indifference. If the effort is so halfhearted it would be better to just stop providing the breakfast, no?
Other than that the hotel was fine. The beds were very comfortable, the hotel was clean, the staff were very helpful/friendly, and the hotel is in a great location.More
