Description: We are located right on the SAN ANTONIO RIVERWALK, directly under the SAN ANTONIO HYATT REGENCY HOTEL.Unlike other SAN ANTONIO BARS & CLUBS, MadDogs is an AUTHENTIC BRITISH theme pub. We offer a full range of draft & bottled IMPORTED BEERS, ice cool exotic cocktails and extensive domestic beverage options. We are situated on the VERY BEST Riverwalk Location; our tropical terrace nestles on the banks of The River itself. The uninterrupted tranquility allows options for relaxing with a ‘cold one’ or simply people watching as the Riverwalk tourists bustle by. Either way you can’t avoid enjoying our LITTLE PIECE OF BRITAIN, whilst basking in the South Texas sun.

“Vegetarians beware”
Reviewed April 30, 2014

Good location. Obtained a patio table overlooking the riverwalk. Decided to lunch here due to the vegetarian section in the menu. Ordered the 'Linda McCarteney recipe bangers and mash with peas. Mistakenly assumed it would be made on site using a Linda McCartenay recipe- did not seem an unreasonable assumption.given the menu description....wrong! It came. 4 sausages on a mound of potatoes. The sausages were prepackaged and clearly suffering from freezer burn - dry, shrunken.the only taste was freezer burn and sodium....bad enough ....the potatoes tasted like they were instant potatoes how one imagines instant potatoes from a box. Tasteless, pablum texture, salty. No peas ever appeared. No assistance by the server on this obviously unsatisfactory meal. The carnivore
at the table had below average burger with frozen French fries. Passable but not good.

This is the first scathing review these posters have ever submitted. Please avoid eating at this
place. It is a waste of time and money.Perhaps have a drink on the deck. The only positive comment one could suggest.

“Good place for food and views of river walk”
Reviewed April 29, 2014

Average to good pub fare with great views of river walk, worth a stop in to try. Good service, took a little long in a not busy dining room to get lunch, but not terrible.

“Not Bad- But not memorable”
Reviewed April 11, 2014

Waited 5-7 min by the sign that told us to wait for hostess to seat us. One came flying by and told us to find a place to sit. Were lucky enough to get one on the edge of the patio overlooking the riverwalk. Unfortunately, the riverwalk crowd was more memorable than the food. We always make it a point to try to stop at a pub everywhere we travel. This was rather routine with a somewhat limited selection of beer. My medium steak came out well done. Service staff nice, but not particularly responsive when asked to clean up a mess on the ground left by the previous party.
