This is a wonderful little restaurant that I ALWAYS patronize when I am in San Antonio. I have enjoyed their food for 14 years. It is located at the inner corner position in the commercial center at the intersection of Wurzbach and Fredericksburg Rd. Parking is never a problem. The owner is almost always in attendance and always has a cheery word. There has been very little turnover of waitstaff and cooks over the years.

The physical ambiance is modest but clean and appropriately ethnic. The waitstaff are pleasant and attentive. The place is usually fairly full of diners, a mixed lot as at most Indian restaurants, young and old, singles and groups, very multicultural, with lots of folks from the nearby Texas medical complex. Attire is casual and the atmosphere is unpretentious. The people are there to have a delicious meal at a fair price.

I always opt for their extensive buffet, which varies a bit from day to day. Some diners, usually ethnic Indians, order from the menu. I generally start by making a salad from their fresh greens and freshly cut fruits, topped with a raita. Then comes a mixture of dishes from their hot bar, usually including plain Basmati rice, fresh naan, a selection of their wonderful vegetable dishes (which are mildly to strongly and exotically spiced), and their heavenly tikka masala over the rice. Mmmm good! After seconds, desert is usually a bowl of chilled rice pudding topped with a layer of Mango custard. All of this is washed down with a bottomless glass of iced tea. A most satisfying meal, indeed, and quite reasonably priced as the above with tip at dinnertime would be in the $17 range per person.

Attention to all customers please give your tip directly to your hard working server. The owners are keeping all the tips for themselves.

Attn owners: the glass jar in the counter full of tips earned by your waitstaff is not for you. This is completely illegal and I know that you are intelligent enough to know that this is 100% stealing from your staff. You will be reported to the authorities if you continue to withhold your staffs earnings.

On a side note the food is very good, the servers are very nice & price is right!

The ambiance is cozy and warm. All the different dishes are cooked to perfection. Abundance of options, suitable for vegetarians too!
You must try Aloo Baingan- the best eggplant in gravy ever- .
Remember to leave room for the exquiste desserts.

Me and my wife went first night and had good experience. Food is good but we were surprised when told that buffet meat is not halal. But thats ok for us as we were good with vegs and desserts. Second night, we went there again with 5 other couples in our tour group. But this time we had bad experience. One of my friends found a piece of metal in a curry. My wife found hair in other. We complained the manager and he shouted to the cook I guess. But thats it. Overall food is above average than other Indian buffet but expensive/
