“Great spot on Blanco Road”
Reviewed April 2, 2014

This place was a nice surprise. Enjoyed the atmosphere, the attention from the staff & wonderful food. My husband had the Chile Poblano Al Carbon & raved about it. I really liked their 'cafe maya' too. We arrived shortly after 5 pm & tables filled up quickly by about 6. Would recommend highly!

“Wonder food but not TexMex”
Reviewed January 24, 2014

I had read several previous reviews and was somewhat skeptical about this restaurant but after dinning there I was very pleasantly surprised. I was with a large group celebrating a birthday.

We were warmly greeted and promptly seated. The staff was very helpful and were very eager to please.

The food was not Texmex which you usually find in San Antonio, it was more tradition from the heart of Mexico style. We ordered a variety of dishes, they all arrive together and were very hot (temp). Everyone commented as to how good the food was.

The only downside was the price. Especially the margaritas, good but pricey. The food was also a little pricey but the quality and portions were very good.

“Good Meal”
Reviewed January 17, 2014

The restaurant was very busy on a Thursday night which was a good sign. Ordered the seafood enchilada with a wine lobster sauce and was very tasty. My wife got a snapper dish with a tomato sauce that she also enjoyed. Maybe a tad pricey, especially the drinks but enjoyed the experience.

“Outstanding Mexican Food - Off the Riverwalk”
Reviewed October 22, 2013

Travelers willing to venture of the Riverwalk to North Central San Antonio will find a real treat at El Mirasol. The Mexican dishes are unusual and quite tasty. They taco list includes cabrito and al pastor, among others. A wide variety of enchiladas are available. My favorite is Enchiladas Mirasol, three enchiladas, each different from the other. On the lighter side is a great grilled shrimp salad, Ensalada de Mar y Sol.

If you like Margaritas, try a Chispa, an exceptionally crisp version of this drink. You'll never go back to Margaritas again.

The restaurant has two outdoor dining areas, both attractive. The service is attentive and friendly. Even the clientele are part of the experience. You'll rarely see diners having as good a time as the crowd at El Mirasol.
