Service was slow on a Thursday night, but food was very good. They use a lot of spice, even on the fish dishes.

My fiancé and I have eaten at Acenar twice - most recently this past weekend - and enjoyed it both times. The concierge at our hotel recommended Acenar, and we were not disappointed. I had the sangria cocktail while we waited for our table - very tasty. We shared the baked cheese appetizer (can't remember the name) - ridiculously good. Then, I had the enchiladas verdes as my main course - everything was very fresh. We had tres leches for dessert. Tres leches is my fiance's favorite dessert - this one was good, but we both agreed we had had better. All in all, we were highly satisfied with our dining experience at Acenar.

Food is good, drinks are great. Bartender Martin is exceptional at making Skinny Mojitos. Head Hostess or Floor Manager needs to get a better personality when dealing with customers. We were tired, hungry and we realized it was Saturday night but we said we’d wait on a Riverwalk Balcony table. Got seated next to an outdoor bar and a party table. Waited again and still got placed back from the Riverwalk. Two couples, more dressed up, came in well after us and got Riverwalk Balcony edge tables, 2 minutes after us. This happened again within another 2 minutes. Obviously we weren’t “hip” enough. We dressed like parents that had been hanging out day with High School Band kids – wait we were hanging out with the band kinds all day at the Alamodome.

One of the only places this local enjoyson the overpriced Riverwalk- try the Tinga Chalupa...and ask for the roasted pineapple salsa- it's seasonal, I guess, so it comes and goes!

Good drinks. Terrible fish. Needed a knife to cut it. Very disappointed. Decent service. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing.
