“Mud Bug Pop!”
Reviewed March 9, 2013

This is a great place for boiled crawfish when in season. The rich etouffe and gumbo are very tasty too. Besides having a decent cajun meal here, the place affords some entertainment as well. I have been here a number of times when customers are trying boiled mud bugs for the first time and it can be a real comedy.
The fun begins when you hear "What's the best way to eat these?" And if they have a good wait person, you will hear them mention about sucking the heads for a flavor burst which is pure cajun. The twisted grimaces and gnarled facial expressions that follow are priceless. Then there's the claws . . . I have seen people in an exasperated thumb and forefinger squeeze desperately trying to extract the minuscule amount of meat that resides there. They end up launching the thing in an arced trajectory half way across the room where it ends up in someone else's gumbo with a ker-plunk!
I have almost choked on my hush puppies after seeing such comical antics. After all, laughter is good for the digestion and the mud bug pop here will have you rolling in the isles!

“Cajun in San Antonio?”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

This was my first time to Acadiana, had lunch with a customer, and he chose the food. The wait was short and the staff was friendly. I ordered crawfish etouffe, with a side of greens and hushpuppies. I am a etouffe fan, so I order it quite often at cajun restaurants. But, I would not order this again, plain white rice, not much flavor and the etouffe was a little different. The greens and hushpuppies were very good with more flavor then the entree. Overall, just not impressed and will not return.

“Fair”
Reviewed January 14, 2013

We stopped here, because it was close to the theater we visited. It is a family style place. There were people of all ages, lots of families there when we went around 6p on a Sat. They have a large menu with something for everyone. The food was just fair. The servers were nice, but not very attentive. We had to ask for drink refills, and several times for napkins before they finally arrived.

“It was ok”
Reviewed January 14, 2013

We ate here recently with our adult children. They had some varying items on the menu; alligator strips, cajun catfish, salad, soup. Everyone found something, although the food just ok, and the service lacked a bit. The servers were friendly.

“Great Cajun Food”
Reviewed December 23, 2012

If you love Cajun Food then this would one of the best places to come in San Antonio. It had a good variety of different type of food. I especially loved the fries. Also, the atmosphere is good and the prices are pretty reasonable. Definitely recommend it.
