“Great steak”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2012

Stopped here on our way through San Antonio after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. It was definitely worth the stop. My husband got the Texas T-bone and I got the shrimp and steak and both were really good. The raspberry pecan pie was absolutely delicious! The staff was super fast and friendly. The manager even helped us find a hotel for the night. Will definitely eat here again if I am ever in San Antonio again.

“Triple D Nominee”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 21, 2012

My wife and I decided to go to some of the Triple D places in San Antonio. While we were at Beto's on Broadway (super fantastic) asked the server about a decent steak place that didn't require a loan before you go. He told us about Josephine's so off we went for next meal. This will be for certain a restaurant I'll go back to again when in River City. Save room for dessert. Absolute fantastic desserts... and I'm not a dessert eater. Blackberry pecan pie and Carrot cake super fantastic. can't wait to go again.

“Big Tree in the Middle....Unique!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 19, 2012

If you are looking for a place in San Antonio to have a reasonable and tasty steak, this is your spot. It's another San Antonio "landmark". There's nothing fancy going on in here, just a rustic steak joint with some really good eats. Tuesday was always $2 off each steak night....could still be. Side portions are modest but good. Don't expect fancy bread - you get a couple slices of regular white bread or wheat bread. Bread is usually a big seller for me on a restaurant, but I will gladly forego it here since everything else is thumbs up. Beware during Spurs season...it gets quite crowded on game nights since they do a shuttle to the game. Nice but small old fashioned bar here, too.

“Really Cool, Great Steak place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2012

There are high end chain steak places all over San Antonio. Josephine Street is a one-of-a-kind, more like hole in the wall, neat old steakhouse. Lots of charm, far more reasonable prices and not white linen in sight. The sign says Steaks & Whiskey. We love this place!

“Diners, Drive Ins and Dives”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2012

This place should be on the show for sure! It was pretty much a dive, but it was a good one. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. I got the pepper-bacon wrapped filet which was really good. The best part was dessert! We had their toll house pie with ice cream. Yum! Very laid back. Good service. We really enjoyed ourselves.
