“Outstanding !!!”
Reviewed March 12, 2014

We walked over after seeing the Alamo and we were amazed. The folks at the museum were extremely personable, friendly, and informative. Kids were allowed to dress up and climb the fire trucks. Not only was the visit educational but quite memorable. It is worth the visit and something the kids will not forget. Thank you!!

“Excellent”
Reviewed March 11, 2014

This was a great place to visit, nice volunteers in there working to guide you if needed. We were greeted promptly at the desk and when we went into the museum.

A lot of history here. Well worth the visit.

Best part - reasonable fee to get in.

“hidden gem”
Reviewed March 9, 2014

We didn't see this place until next to the last day. Made a special trip back to see this before our flight out. Nice hidden gem. Good prices. Several old fire trucks. Newer fire museum but it is up and coming. Really nice. It is at Alamo plaza so make sure you check it out while making a day of downtown.

“Great San Antonio History”
Reviewed March 5, 2014

Its amazing to see how our Beloved Firefighters protected our San Antonio citizens with the tools available to them from the 1800 and early 1900's. Very interesting and love the hands on the fire trucks available to the visitors. The Fire Fighters are very warm and welcoming.

“A great experience for Firefighters or History fans”
Reviewed January 30, 2014

The museum is located directly behind the Alamo, and up until 2013 was an active fire station for the San Antonio Fire Dept. The staff is retired SAFD staff or supporters and is very knowledgeable and very open to tell stories of their careers and the history of the dept. They have equipment, tools and pictures from many different years. A great place for families to bring young kids who want to see some history of real hero's.
