“Amazing Fire History and Fun Attraction for San Antonio”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 17, 2013

My husband and I visit San Antonio a few times a year for the Riverwalk attractions and delicious food but we were pleasantly surprised to see that they had turned their old Central Fire Station into a Museum. Every exhibit had a story and there were very knowledgeable volunteers everywhere you looked ready with a cool story about the station or a personal story from their 20+ year career there, Absolutely loved it and we will definitely go back... also can't beat the admission price. Had we known it was free for Firefighters in uniform, my husband would have worn his!

“Great Stories”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 7, 2013

Not only are the old trucks and photos great to look at. The staff of volunteers are awesome. They have alot of personal knowledge about the Fire Department, as most are retirees. And boy do they have stories to share. KIds will love getting on the truck and ringing the bell, as well as putting on a helmet and playing firemen. A must see.

“Fun and interesting”

First of all I'll admit I'm a firefighter of 20+ years and I enjoy fire related things. All the family with me enjoyed this museum and and the wonderful staff of volunteers that were there. They had only been open a week when I visited but were well on the way to being a first rate fire museum. They are within walking distance of the Alamo and well worth a visit.

“A great place to visit for fire department history !”

Our visit was amazing. All the volunteer staff were so helpful and knowledgeable. Plan for about 2 hours if you like fire department history. The antique fire trucks and the displays are great. The Crockett Hotel was right, ' The Crockett Hotel - San Antonio It is great to have this new gem in the neighborhood. Stay here and check out the museum.

It's free for now, and they were asking for donations. Well worth it !
