Description: This casual, upscale restaurant offers innovative American cuisine including the freshest seafood from the Gulf of Mexico, Atlantic and Pacific, great steaks from Allen Brothers in Chicago, and regional and seasonal specialties. Daily lunch and dinner specials feature local ingredients whenever possible. The Kobe beef burger can be paired with hand cut French fries, crispy thin onion rings, homemade lemon-pepper potato chip or potato salad. There is an outdoor patio under a canopy of oak trees that's shady and extremely popular with locals and visitors to San Antonio. The brunch offered on Sundays features a menu of classic egg dishes, fire-roasted prime rib, Texas pot roast, jumbo lump crab cake, and top entree salads, chicken and seafood dishes. Cappy's has an ever-changing, dynamic and well-priced wine list, with great choices by the glass or bottle. Full bar.

This is a very good restaurant in many ways. The food was unique and delicious. The menu was loaded with seasonal specials. We had the pumpkin and brown butter tortellini as an appetizer, it was fantastic. The salads were fresh and distinctive. My girlfriend and I both had steak entrees, different cuts. Both were slightly overdone, but somehow amazingly tender and tasty. The service was impeccable, with all of the courses coming out just after finishing the prior course. The pace of the meal was very enjoyable.

As far as seating goes, you have two options. The outside patio is relaxed and shielded from the noise of the nearby parking lot by many plants/trees, giving you a secluded feeling. The tables are spaced well so that you are a good ways away from other diners. If the weather is good, this is a great place to enjoy a meal. We did not experience the inside part of the restaurant, but it looked more formal, yet comfortable.

As an added touch the manager came by to make sure that everything was OK with our meal. He was genuine in making sure that everything was to our liking.

My husband and I love this restaurant. In our opinion, Cappy's is much better than Silos or other top rated San Antonio restaurants. We visited today. Their grilled Marlin special remains embedded in my tastebuds and brain cells some 7 hours later. Cappy's salad is great. I've had a Rib Eye Steak with a bourbon component that was the best beef I've had in a restaurant. Wonderful location. Attentive waiters. What more could you ask? Allow adequate time for service as this is not a fast food restaurant by any means.

My wife and I ate at Cappy's after a day in downtown San Antonio. We were tempted to eat at one of the touristy places near the Riverwalk,
but, fortunately, decided to eat somewhere on the return trip to Austin. We lucked out: I would recommend this restaurant to any one. The staff are friendly, without being pushy, and the food was extremely good: high quality ingredients, fresh, and well-prepared. We ate dinner a little early, and there were several tables available
-- but, by the time we left, the place was packed. If you plan to dine after 7:00pm, I expect you'll need a reservation.
