Reviewed October 27, 2012

My daughter and sister and myself went there for dinner on 10-26-12 I do not like to sit on booths because tables are ti close to your chest. we asked the hostess if we could sit on a table with 4 chair close by he said no that for a bigger family really the entire time we were there no one ever sat there.we waited 15 min for our drinks order then another 10 min just to order.35 min for our food the waiter bought our food siting in a booth the plates were all on our face when serve the food was cold fish taste day old. chicken fried steak was cold really management you should go around and talk to your customers to see if everything is to our meets. hostess no customer service exp. server we had to go look for her to more tea. our experience last night for dinner was horrible.
please check for the smelly musty moldy smell management I would not go back sorry my mother went there for 20 years I wont. staff not to friendly at all they looked frustrated during the whole time.

“Needs Drastic Overhaul”
Reviewed February 2, 2009

This was our first visit to this restaurant, which is long past its prime. No efforts have been made to update its exterior or interior from its 1950s-1960s era look and the food, I suspect, has gone downhill. The service, however, was excellent. The dirty glass entrance door and unswept entryway floor were good clues as to how this restaurant has been neglected. The predominent interior color is brown and the furnishings are dated and dingy. The worn dinnerware has apparently been in use for decades. We went for breakfast. Orange juice was bottled Bordens. We had French toast, which was not very good and consisted of only four thin pieces. We also had side orders of bacon consisting of two pieces of not very tasty bacon. The coffee was okay. We were hungry when we left. Overall, the poor food, depressing interior and the lack of other customers in this fairly large restaurant made for a depressing meal. We will not be returning.

“This place is GREAT!”
Reviewed August 4, 2007

If you want good down home cookin', this is the place to find it. With a menu that features anything you could possibly want, the execution is flawless. From mexican food to fish and everything in between, it's comfort food at its best. Not to mention some of the employees have been there FOREVER! We drive from far north San Antonio and it is well worth the trip. You will love this throwback to days gone by.

“Old School”
Reviewed September 5, 2006

Bud Jones is one of those iconic San Antonio eateries on the southside of town. Nuthin' fancy, but they do it all, breakfast, Tex-Mex and giant Country Fried Steaks! During the day it has an old school meat and three (sides) style lunch menu.Their cheese enchiladas are not fancy, just good.
