I am utterly flabbergasted by the positive ratings for this restaurant! Sadly, we wasted over $100.00 by dining at this restaurant in late December of 2012. If your idea of great Italian food is The Olive Garden or similar American chains, then you will love this restaurant. If you are from a large, cosmopolitan city and used to authentic, spectacular Italian food, then you will be terribly disappointed by Paesano’s food. I’m from Toronto, Canada, the most multicultural city in the world, and I have travelled to Italy twice. Frankly, I would say Paesano, in San Antonio, is a pretentious restaurant who should not be allowed to call their cuisine Italian.

Called in to paesanos river walk looking for a meal on 28 December 2012 at 6 pm. Called before hand and told we could not book.Waited for a table but another guest was taken before us( we were there before them but place looked empty so we let them go as a 6 person table was sitting in front of us with no reserve on it ). We were told by Bill the manager that the table was booked for a week in advance. Guess we didn't meet his dress standards. We are centurion Amex cardholders from Australia and have dined at very nice restaurants world wide. Dress well or face the rath of Bill the manager at paesanos.

Who hasn't tried the shrimp Paesano? If not, you are missing something special-rich, buttery, lemony, and well worth battling the crowds to sample this.

Marvelous restaurant. Great marina sauce. Our favorite things are: the justly famous Shrimp Paesano(very rich), the Eggplant Parmesan (exquisitely prepared), the Special salad (includes avacado, palm hearts, and artichoke hearts), and the Giant Calamari (we love the half grilled and half fried version). The wait staff very, very professional, and strive to make every meal enjoyable.
Very reasonable prices, and usually not a long wait when crowded.

As expected, average italian eatery in america. Must say stuffed shells were good. Artichoke fritter appetizer was just ok. They need more waiters as its too crowded for the staff they have.
