I enjoy trying new and unique places, and especially family owned restaurants. I read that Schilo's was started by a German family and had a tradition of homemade sausage, corned beef and the like. Had breakfast - eggs and bratwurst - and when I gave my compliments to the waitress on the taste of the sausage, she said it came from somewhere in Wisconsin. Not that I don't love the great state of Wisconsin, but I was under the impression the sausage was made on site. We gave Schilo's a second chance for lunch - split pea soup was supposed to be another 'signature' item on the menu - that was pretty good. The best part of the meal were the biscuits - they were definitely home made. I'd go back for the biscuits with butter and hot coffee - that's about it.
