You really cant find a better bang for your buck than right here. The french toast and potato pancakes come highly recommended!

“Great food, great price service was unremarkable.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 9, 2012 via mobile

I enjoyed my schnitzel there along with the roof beer they make in house. Although the waitress asked what bread I wanted and I thought it was very nice -- she never remembered to come back with it. Service was a little slow and waitress was often forgetful of requests like a take away box... Our check. Place was average busy so I was expecting service to be better. Overall, I would return for the food and relaxing environment.

“Lunch meal”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

We went there twice for lunch. First time we had the lunch special that was good and included coffee. Not that big but good enough for lunch. Only one special per day so may not be 1st choice on some days. Second time had a ruben. It did not have a lot of meat but tasted good. We shared a large salad which was good, small and had a little brown lettuce. Overall we liked eating there but the portions were small and just a small pickle with sandwich. Seems they are on a strict budget.

“Coming home”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2012

I ate my first meal at Schilo's in 1958, and have been coming back for more ever since. I love the place, a little bit of German heritage in Old San Antonio. Don't miss the split pea soup.
