“Always A Must For Us”
Reviewed November 14, 2013

Not sure why Boudro's is ranked lower on Trip Advisor unless the less expensive restaurant reviews are out ranking it. Boudro's is always consistant and the food is well thought out and excellent. We have never had a bad meal here over the course of going to San Antonio the last 5 years. You do need to make a reservation a day or so ahead. We had the catch of the day and the seafood platter. Both were excellent. We always do the tableside guacomole; it is delicious!

“Great Experience”
Reviewed November 11, 2013

We were going to eat here on the first night of our trip, but found a nearly 2 hour wait and decided to skip it and make a reservation for the next night. We had to take a 9:30 reservation because that was the earliest they had available, and so we arrived a couple of hours early with the intention of just having a few drinks in the bar and enjoying the scenery while we waited. However, when we arrived they were able to seat us right away at peak time without any hassle, and it worked out great. It was definitely worth coming back for. The atmosphere was relaxing on the patio overlooking the Riverwalk, the server was very attentive and actually took a little time to get to know us, and the food was outstanding (if a little pricey, but you get what you pay for). You'd be hard pressed to do better than dinner and drinks here.

“Riverwalk Lunch and Tour”
Reviewed November 11, 2013

Just got back from our visit to San Antonio. We hosted a group of 30 for lunch on the Riverwalk. The staff at Boudro's arranged for the tour boats and provided our lunch which included a very fresh Four Lettuce Salad, choice of Empanada Langosta or Chicken Enchiladas verdes and finished off with a Lime chess pie (thank you Anne). The tables were set and covered in linen tablecloths, with margaritas, beer and wine ready as we boarded. The day started out with rain, but by lunch the sun broke through to give us an absolutely weather perfect day for our Riverwalk boat tour (low 70's). The food and service was fabulous (thanks Tommy)! and the smiles and waves of passerbyers was priceless! Oh, and a MUST have are the absolutely fabulous Prickly Pear frozen Margaritas. No one makes them as well as Boudro's! Will go down as one of my best experiences!!

“Oh my gosh it was so good”
Reviewed November 9, 2013 via mobile

We dined on a Saturday night and ate only off the appetizers. This allowed us to try four great dishes between 2 of us. We started with the tuna tartar which was layered on top of avocado above the crisp tostada. I have had tuna and avocado together before but the sauce here had a nice little kick and the tostada itself was flavorful. Very satisfying. The black bean and white cheddar soup was not only artfully presented it was superb. This was the best soup I think I have ever had. It is a thick soup though so if you want a light appetizer this is not it. I only ate 1/2 of the bowl But worth every spoon. We also had the scallop appetizer which were glazed and seared served with hominy. These were simultaneously sweet, crunchy and tender. These were absolutely fantastic!! Finally we ordered the sea cakes - 3 small ones per order - which were moist and came encircled in a wonderful remoulade, accompanied by a light jicama slaw. All sooooo good. The very friendly super attentive wait staff and warm decor added to our experience. It is a very tight dining area with tables very close so be prepared to get bumped into and there is not a lot of rom for bags, strollers etc. But clearly we found the food to be excellent. All 4 dishes.

“Good Food , but Expensive”
Reviewed November 9, 2013 via mobile

We called for a reservation and were told they were booked, but they seat walk-ins. They told us it would be a 45 minute wait, so we ordered two Prickly Pear Margaritas $16. We had taken a few sips and were seated--less than a 10 minute wait. We had the most delicious table made guacamole $9. I was able to jot down the recipe. We shared an appetizer of seared scallops which were delicious, but there were only two if them for $11.50. I had the shrimp and grits recommended by someone on trip advisor. It was abut too spicy for me although the grits were delicious ($28). My husband had the grilled shellfish platter that he really enjoyed ($38) and a glass if wine ($7). With tax and tip dinner was $138.00.
