The Chicken salad sandwich and chicken enchilada soup was so very very comforting! Good biscuits. Wow the coffee was special. Service was pretty good, great setting...

“Great food, amazing location”
Reviewed December 8, 2013

The food was delicious. I got the breakfast taco and the tortillas were amazing! Definitely handmade! Nice sized portions with great flavor. The decor goes nicely with the location and environment. Staff was pleasant. Overall a great local choice for breakfast. I actually came here because of the yelp reviews and was not disappointed.

“Great breakfast spot within walking distance of downtown”
Reviewed December 8, 2013

The San Antonio Riverwalk keeps spreading south, but so few people take the time to explore it. The Guenther House's breakfasts could certainly attract people to walk down the river's side to enjoy a tremendous meal.

The restaurant is adjacent to the Pioneer flour mills so you can imagine how tasty the pancakes are! (Actually, the restaurant was originally the founder's home and built in 1918, then converted to a restaurant and charming gift shop.)

We loved the outdoor breakfast--even thought the air temperature was a bit cool, the Guenther House servers immediately turned on overhead heaters which made the outdoors quite comfortable.

The food was creative and tasty. Check out the menu board to see the latest creations. Our food was memorable, but the walk to the restaurant through the historic Prince William district even moreso.

“One of my all time favorites”
Reviewed December 4, 2013

Everything about this place was off the charts. The food was out standing, our server was great (polite and professional and recommended the oatmeal pancakes to my wife), and the setting makes you feel like you are in a different time. We recommend the oatmeal pancakes, biscuits and gravy and breakfast tacos. You will not be dissappointed. Absolutely will be back.
