Description: At Pico de Gallo, our high standards were set over 75 years ago when Pete Cortez, a native of Guadalajara, Jalisco opened his first restaurant, Mi Tierra. In time, popularity of the restaurant grew and a new, more spacious location had to be purchased. Today, our family owns four restaurants - La Margarita, Pico de Gallo, Viva Villa Taqueria and Mi Tierra, and Pete and Cruz's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren still uphold the same standards that were set years ago. We are still revered as one of the best Mexican food restaurants to visit, and provide a unique cultural ambience that is fun for locals and tourists alike. Conveniently located in the heart of the Alamo city, we invite you to bring your family and friends to experience everything that is Pico de Gallo.

I love Mexican food, so this restaurant was a must stop for me when we visited San Antonio. It's been around since 1941 and is one of 3 restaurants in the building. Did not check out the other 2. Pico was casual, booths and tables. In the front room you could see into the kitchen and the back room had a big screen TV. They had festive Mexican decor, a Mariachi band, and waitresses in Mexican dress. The restaurant had an eclectic mix of patrons...great place for a family or couple. Not romantic, but fun. Both my husband and I had traditional combo platters of Mexican food: taco, enchilada, tamale, beans and rice. The food was served piping hot and was delicious. Although we we're stuffed, the waitress convinced us we would love the sopapilla for dessert. It was yummy and prices good.

Family loves Mi Tierra for the Market experience, bakery & food.
I prefer this restaurant in the trilogy--- like to eat at Pico to avoid the crowds and get great food, too.

Great atmosphere!

Our Family noticed while waiting outside that the Guards are very rude to patrons and passerbys...They even were to the point of beating a homeless man but another patron intervened. We later found out this is the place a man was Shot Twice when caught in the Restaurant office. Non of our family members or friends will ever give our business. To a Restaurant. Who gives SECURITY Guards the portent to beat or shoot to kill!!

When we come to San Antonio, we always try to visit some place. At the suggestion of a friend we tried this new place. OK....we tried this restaurant, and will probably not go again. Our usual places are our favorites, and will stay true to us. Good service....great margarita....ok just ok.

Pico de Gallo was our favorite Tex-Mex Restaurant in San Antonio, Texas; this family-run restaurant was so much better than the corporate-run places. The service was always excellent and the food was consistently good. The atmosphere was friendly and casual, with typical South Texas decor. A must visit place.
