Description: Inspired by the union of old and new worlds, Ocho at Hotel Havana offers two unique spaces for dining and drinks on the Museum Reach of the River Walk in San Antonio. The upstairs Ocho dining room, situated in a glass and steel conservatory reminiscent of a birdcage, opens onto the river and offers seating both indoors and outdoors. The downstairs lounge provides a dimly candlelit gathering place with velvet couches and antique leather club chairs suited for intimate meetings and secret rendezvous. Ocho at Hotel Havana presents a food, cocktail and wine menu that is rooted in the hotel's pan-Latin cultural influences. Ocho offers inventive menus for breakfast (voted among the Best in Texas by Texas Monthly Magazine), lunch, dinner and late night to be served in-room, on the patio or in the upstairs lounge.

For those less adventurous, simply try the burger or quesadillas. They will still 'wow' you! In addition, there is a cool little bar in the basement. Dimly lit with lots of character. Great date night spot.

A friend told us about Ocho, and we are glad to made the effort to find it. It is a small restaurant/bar in a boutique hotel. The owner decorated it in a fun eclectic way and I cannot wait to return when the glass garage doors are open and the place is buzzing with people and excitement. We were there post-Christmas, so pretty much had it to ourselves. That gave us a change to visit with the friendly hotel GM, and she made us want to stay there next trip to San Antonio.

Went out for a drink with my sister and had a memorable time. I loved the atmosphere - lit by votive candles. The bartender, Yvonne, was great. I was impressed by how pulled together she was even though there was a group of challenging patrons. The Havana Margarita and the Martinique Punch were excellent. Also had the pleasure of meeting Rosie. She had some great stories to tell. I will most definitely be returning.

Have been coming to SA for decades, and this was one of the worst food experiences. This was a dinner with many important clients. First the positives, funky cool vibe, nice friendly bar staff, great appetizers and creative menu items. Problems--the menu is way to small with only five entrees, they only had three available the night I was there. The margarita's were weak and not very tasty. When several locals in our party complained about the taste of the drinks, the waiter just asked, "would you like another señor?" Didn't offer to fix it or even recommend something else. They should only serve tapas, which they do well.

On a recent birthday weekend, we stopped at a number of places for a drink as we made our way through Downtown San Antonio. One surprise was the gem, Ocho, which is in the Havana Hotel on the Riverwalk.

Even in November, the Hotel was able to have the sidewalls open and the River View was fantastic! The staff was great and attentive and though we were there "just for one", we certainly put it on our list of places to revisit.

We walked through the Hotel to the downstairs bar and through the lobby and up the incredible, wooden stairs into the guestroom area on our way out. It looks like a wonderful boutique hotel from what we could see and we’re excited to stay there on a future visit.
