Owner description: By appointment only! We strongly recommend booking at least 30 days in advance! Seriously!! San Antonio Western Shooting provides a safe, supervised fun Western Shooting Experience using real guns and real bullets. We provide instruction in the safe handling shooting of all guns. No experience necessary! You will have the opportunity to shoot reproductions of guns such as the Colt 1873 Peacemaker pistol in a western setting. When you get used to those guns we will have you shoot the double barreled shotgun. Shooters will shoot about 75 rounds and it will take about 3 hours, the cost is $130 per person. All of our shooting sessions are by appointment only! Sorry, no "fast draw" or "twirling" of guns is permitted. Absolutely no alcoholic beverages are permitted onsite. Guests may bring observers at no extra cost. See our website and Facebook page for more information. Unruly children will be sold to the Comanche.

I had a great time using some old time pistols and shotguns. I was able to re-enact a shoot out at a card game, shoot some clay targets, and shoot a target off a candle! The staff was very informative with safety a priority. They even let us use some prop hats to put us in the spirit. Food and beverages were provided as part of the experience at no extra cost.

My adult son and I went to SAWS when we were in San Antonio for the 4th of July. We both like to shoot and my son had just graduated from college, so this was a bit of a graduation present for both of us to share. Everyone associated with SAWS was excellent from the time we made the reservation until we left the range! We had a great time “burning powder” in each of the scenarios from dirty card dealers, to stage robbers, to splitting bullets on an axe blade, etc… Whether you are a first time or an accomplished shooter, you will have fun with the entire experience. My fiancée and I went shooting with SAWS in June this year and we had a great time! Coming from the UK we're not experienced at shooting, and wanted to try it out as part of the Texas experience. This was a more expensive option than just a regular trip to a range, but when we saw the photos we knew this was the one for us. We had four of the SAWS folks looking after just the two of us, and it really felt like they couldn't do enough for us - they were very welcoming and great fun too. We shot with pistols and shotguns - through windows, over card tables and even from horses! Anything you want to do, they will make it happen (within reason and most laws). The set up is like a western movie set and they provide hats and belts too. They also have some fruit and bottles you can take aim at, an axe head to split a bullet on and more besides. We saw a lot in our two weeks in Texas but this was definitely one of the highlights - thanks to all the folks at SAWS for making our day! Jim & Alex
