My husband and I spent 3 nights at the Riverwalk Vista Inn for our 5th anniversary. We chose a queen suite room so that we could enjoy a couple's massage together. It was a very nice - large room. We had 4 huge windows for some very nice views. Our room was a corner room so we had 2 windows on the east and 2 windows on the south side of the building. Our first night was a Friday - which was very busy for the location - so we didn't sleep very well due to lots of street noise and trying to sleep in a queen bed when we are used to a king bed at home. They did provide a noise machine in the room that we turned on but still heard lots of traffic, mostly buses on the streets. The next 2 nights were much quieter OR we were just used to the extra noise from the street. I wouldn't let the extra noise deter me from staying here again.

The location couldn't be better. You can literally walk to everything you would want to do in downtown. They are right across the street from a main entrance/staircase down to the river walk. The innkeepers were very warm and friendly and gave us several ideas for restaurants in the area. The Inn also provides a large notebook in the lounge area that has local restaurant menus in it. I found that to be a very nice touch.

The breakfast was very nice. There was something for everyone and plenty to choose from. The cookies in the afternoon were a nice "feel at home" touch. We also enjoyed the complimentary wine each evening. Patti- an innkeeper - was so much fun to visit with during our first evening of drinking wine and relaxing.

The Inn schedule our couple's massage - an extra charge - that we wanted to have for our anniversary. The massage girls were right on time and EXCELLENT!

We will definitely stay at the Riverwalk Vista Inn again. Thanks to all the innkeepers for our nice visit.

We found this lovely little gem of a hotel/B 'n B through TripAdvisor and it was perfect. We were in San Antonio for Fiesta and could not have asked for anything more. The staff were all very cordial, personable and helpful, making restaurant recommendations, as well as giving us tips that made our Fiesta experience more pleasant. I really enjoy small inns - this one has only 17 rooms, and two or three comfortable lounges where you could just sit and relax. The location is fantastic - literally across the street from the lovely Riverwalk which we could look down on from our room - and only a couple of blocks from the Alamo, an IMAX theater. and some of San Antonio's other fun attractions, such as La Villeta and Hemisphere Park. The expanded continental breakfast was more than adequate, and we appreciated that there was sensitivity on timing - i.e., that they did not start pulling things right on the dot if people were still relaxing over coffee. They also had cold lemonade and cookies in the afternoon and then wine was also offered later. The only issue was that there was some late night noise during Fiesta, but hey - that's what WE were there for anyway and since we're night-owls, this was not an issue. All in all a perfect stay!

The Riverwalk Hotel is a beautiful hotel in a historic building--nice atmosphere, though the fixtures are not in immaculate shape, if that's the sort of thing that you care about; I thought it added to the cosiness of the place. Nice leather armchairs, soaringly high ceilings, enormous windows with blackening curtains. We booked a two-room suite, which had a lovely bed with nice linens in one room, and a living room with a pull-out sofa in the other. The continental breakfast is terrific, with homemade breads, quiche, and hardboiled eggs.

My only gripe: we traveled with two children under three, and my guess is that the hotel is trying to discourage kids. They have a single pack-and-play for loan, and they charge THIRTY DOLLARS per night for its use. (We brought our own.) There is also no high chair in the breakfast room. Additionally--and this of course is just the breaks in a hotel in an old building--there is a fairly steep exterior staircase to the hotel's front door, so anyone wheeling in, or with difficulty walking, may find the Riverwalk impossible. It's also on the corner of two busy streets--though there was a white noise machine next to our bed!

One small thing (in case the innkeepers read this!): I'd decided to leave my computer at home, but ended up needing to use the business center's machine, which was mind-bogglingly slow. That's not a complaint--I was happy to use one at all--but one couldn't really accomplish much on it, should one need to.

Ten of us gathered in San Antonio for a sorority reunion, and the Riverwalk Vista was the perfect place for our two night stay. With five rooms in the back corner of the third floor, we felt we had the place to ourselves even though the inn was completely booked that weekend. One of our suites (the Joske) was a great place to gather in the late hours. Can't say enough about all the amenities (great breakfast foods, cookies, wine, etc.), the helpful staff, and the ideal location to the Riverwalk, Alamo, and streetcar stops. We had a great weekend, and the Riverwalk Vista played a big role in making it great.

My husband and I stayed at Riverwalk Vista for an extended weekend getaway. Overall, we had a great experience. Because the hotel is so small the service is very personal and you feel like the staff are truly concerned about you enjoying your stay. The location could not be better and we had very easy access to everything in the Riverwalk area including the parking garage recommended by the hotel. I booked a massage through the hotel that was a wonderful experience and very convenient in my own room. Breakfast was very good and we enjoyed the cookies in the afternoon. We appreciated the security system on the front door and felt very safe. Hotel does not have a fancy five star feel but is very warm and welcoming which was exactly what we were looking for. We also appreciated the restoration and maintenance of the history of the building. Would recommend to anyone!

I stayed here for four nights in March and it was a wonderful inn. When we arrived, the staff took us to our room and personally showed us everything we might need (where extra blankets/pillows were, where the fan/thermostat settings were, etc.). The room was great - very clean, comfortable, and a good size. The room had high ceilings and long windows which were wonderful.

As for the rest of the inn, free breakfast every morning, cookies in the afternoon, and free wine every night were great extras! There were several sitting rooms to relax in and enjoy views of the Riverwalk, and the location can not be beat. Although you are right among the action of San Antonio, the inn felt like a little oasis as it was quiet and pleasant to walk back into after a day of being a tourist. Would recommend for anyone traveling to San Antonio, especially couples and families with teenage children

We spent 2 nights at the Riverwalk Vista & thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Personable staff, great amenities (nice breakfast selections, lemonade & cookies mid-afternoon, wine in the evening), very comfortable bed and an excellent location just across the street from the riverwalk. We hope to return again to San Antonio & would definitely stay at the Riverwalk Vista.
