I had a great time at the Gardenia Inn! My room was beautiful, clean and very cozy. The bed was comfortable. The best part was breakfast. Susan is an excellent cook and fixed the best best breakfasts! Out of all the food I ate in San Antonio, the best part was eating at the Inn!

Our 5-night stay at the Gardenia Inn was nothing short of excellent. Our hosts, Susan and John Elich, who took over the inn this past May, were very generous with their time and hospitality and nothing was an inconvenience to them. Susan, a great chef, made every effort to know what our likes and dislikes were, and taylored all our breakfasts around our needs. Some mornings we dined in the formal, antique dining room; others were at the patio set on the covered porch overlooking a wonderful garden listening to and watching all the wildlife around us. Breakfast, including fresh fruit, juice, and dessert, was comprised of such decadences as Ginger Pancakes with Lemon Sauce and Sausages, Ricotta Stuffed French Toast and Bacon, and Potatoe and Sausage Casserole. The hundred year old inn is in fantastic condition, with loads of antiques and lots of oak trim, and the old-fashioned hanging swing on the front porch was a great place to relax and unwind. I would not hesitate to recommend this inn to anyone.

We recently stayed with Nicki at the Gardenia Inn and had a wonderful time. The hospitality was first rate. The Inn was immaculate and exactly as described on the website. The breakfasts were awesome in quality and quantity. We had to leave early on our last day and she got up very early to make us breakfast. The riverwalk is only two and a half blocks from her front door and then only another 1/2 mile stroll to the commercial section of the riverwalk. If you're thinking of staying at a B&B in San Antonio I would highly recommend you stay at the Gardenia Inn.

I have stayed at the Gardenia-Inn 4 times. I have travelled quite a lot in the past 5 years, and the Gardenia-Inn makes me feel home. The Hosts are very friendly and accommodating. The food is exceptional, and the rooms are super clean! The price is definately low for that kind of hospitality. I recommend the Gardenia-Inn to anyone who wants to experience San Antonio from the best side possible!

Although I'm a local, we wanted a weekend get away here in San Antone in the heart of the King William's district. This B & B is romantic, quiet, and provides easy access to great food, a quaint, walkable neighborhood, and the River Walk. I'd especially recommend the Lavender Room, which includes a tub in the bedroom and a front porch balcony that has a swing. The couple that runs this B & B is friendly and hospitable. I'd give this place the equivalent of Ebert and Roeper's "two thumbs way up."
