“Feeling at home, when you're not!”
Reviewed March 27, 2013

My wife and I spent our 25th wedding anniversary in San Antonio. We stayed here for 3 outstanding nights. This place is first class in appearance, accommodations and the staff. The owner/innkeeper, Deborah, will go out of her way to make you feel at home - something I believe she inherited from her mother! I had called her a few days prior to our arrival and let her know of the occasion. I had already ordered 2 dozen yellow roses (my wife's favorite) to be sent here but needed a 25th rose, a red one. Deborah was all too happy to help and also provided some sparkling juice as we aren't champagne drinkers. Our room (the Magnolia) was tastefully decorated and quite comfortable. I'm a big fan of breakfast and I was not disappointed! We also enjoyed the late afternoon snacks. I was absolutely shocked to learn that Deborah has only been in this business since July 2012. She is a pure natural at this! I don't believe there was an empty room any night we were there. Next time we're in San Antonio I won't bother looking for another B&B or a hotel. We've found "home."

Thank you! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and you can come "home" anytime you are in the San Antonio area.

Travelers tip: Staying at a bed and breakfast or inn is a great way to celebrate special occasions. Let the innkeeper know you are celebrating and chances are great they will add to your festivities! Everyone loves a party.

We loved staying at Eva's during our stay in San Antonio. Deborah, the owner, was so nice and thoughtful. The house was gorgeous and just a quick walk to the River Walk and Alamo and has some really nice places to eat just right there in the neighborhood. We didn't use our car the whole time that we were there! And the breakfast's there were wonderful! Would recommend Eva's to anyone!

We enjoyed having you as our guests.

Travelers tip: As Stephanie noted, you don't really need a car if staying in the King William neighborhood. If you get to the area and determine a car is needed a major car rental company is less than a five minute walk.

We spent a week in March in San Antonio, at Eva's Escape. What a wonderful experience!! Deborah and her staff made us feel right at home from the beginning of our stay!! Daily, we looked forward to her wonderful breakfasts (& interesting stories associated with each) and special treats at 5:00p.m. Our room was comfortable and clean. We spent some of our afternoons on our balcony enjoying the beautiful weather. Deborah suggested many good restaurants but our two favorites were Feast & Bliss, both close to the B&B. They provided a unique dining experience. Staying at Eva's Escape made our trip to San Antonio extra special!! Thanks Deborah and staff!!

From the moment we arrived until we checked out, we received outstanding service. Deborah arranged for a car service to pick us up from the airport. It was nice to be greeted and have our luggage carried for us. No worries or hassles!

We stayed three nights in the suite. The suite was roomy, the beds were very comfortable, there were free movies on the flat screen Apple TV, with robes to lounge in, a refrigerator with water and soft drinks, and Italian toiletries provided.

We were celebrating my husband's birthday and there was a bottle of Prosecco waiting in our room. Each morning, Deborah fixed a delicious breakfast. We told her before arriving that we followed gluten free diets and each breakfast was gluten free. Her breakfasts were my favorite meal each day!

In the afternoon, there were cookies, brownies, cake and nuts with wine or lemonade. Deborah also provided excellent restaurant recommendations. There are several great restaurants within a couple of blocks so no need for a car.

The B&B is charming and everyone is very service oriented. We will definitely stay here again if we return to San Antonio. It was one of the best B&B experiences we have had!

The only downside is that you could hear the train as it passed through town.

Room Tip: The suite had two beds and a day bed. Lots of room and very comfortable. Some of the other rooms ha...

We only had two days in San Antonio and one of the highlights was our stay at "Deborahs". Warmly greeted by Rosemary who clued us in on all the great restaurants, the easy walk to the river, and all the amenities of Eva's Escape...The front porch and steps was so much like coming home. The fireplaces in the living room and the dining room made us want to stay forever. The Bluebonnet room with its clawfoot tub had us sleeping in until just about breakfast time which of course was a delight. Thank you Deborah for preparing such wonderful delights...

Room Tip: The Bluebonnet room suffers from any guest in the room above who is walking about with highheeled sh...

We had our wedding at Eva's Escape, Deborah and her staff perfected every detail to make this day great. We never worried about anything, breakfast was grand, and the rooms were so comfortable. To us the experience was made by the thought, care, and happiness of Deborah and her staff. Best place hands down to stay!!

My wife and I spent a week with Deborah (the Innkeeper) and her staff. The hospitality that we enjoyed was the highlight of our trip to San Antonio. The home itself is a delight--from the hanging glider on the front porch to the beautiful twin-sided fireplace serving the front parlor and dining room. Deborah is a fabulous cook, and personally prepares not only the delicious breakfast, but also a daily special treat (e.g. espresso brownies; chocolate chip cookies) to be enjoyed in the late afternoon by guests returning from a busy day. Each day's breakfast entree is accompanied by a story from Deborah about how it came to be part of her culinary repertoire. It is inspiring to learn about her family and the eventful life which ultimately brought her to San Antonio to operate a B&B. Deborah does everything she can to accommodate the special circumstances of her guests. When my wife and I had to depart early one morning for a tour of the Hill Country, she made a take-along meal of yogurt, granola, and fruit.
The maintenance of our room (The Lily) was fantastic throughout our stay.
The B&B is located in the historic King William area, and is within easy walking distance of wonderful restaurants and the downtown area.
You can't go wrong! Highest recommendation!

Room Tip: The bathroom in our room (The Lily) might be too small for persons with mobility issues.

Awesome!

Travelers tip: San Antonio has everything for everyone. It is easy to fill a week with adventure, history, art and culture. Make sure you check out the San Antonio Convention and Visitors Bureau website. There is a lot of information on things to do.
