I'm only sorry I didn't write this review sooner, because in my opinion this B&B should have been voted number one!! My husband and I had the pleasure to stay here when we celebrated our 26th wedding anniv. in 2006. We actually got to stay in the lil' cottage out back - so we felt like we had the place to ourself! Had our morning coffee out in the garden! The hosts were just wonderful, and they prepared the best breakfast that morning! They couldn't have been more friendly and accomodating. Made all their guests feel warm and welcomed! The house itself is stunning and radiates with charm!! The grounds and the entire house are kept immaculate, as well!! We had the best time and wished we could have stayed longer!

What a delightful B&B in a perfect location in the King William District! Convenient to sightseeing and getting around San Antonio, the Gardenia Inn was a lovely spot to relax and enjoy our visit to this wonderful city. We enjoyed the Desert Rose room and it was huge with a separate sleeping area with king bed and a living room area with a queen in an alcove. Perfect for families.

Beautiful inn with fabulous rooms and wonderful common areas (including a refrigerator stocked with water and soda, a comuter and printer for guests, and a living room). It was easy walk to the Riverwalk and in the King William Historic neigborhood. Breakfast was fabulous and John was a wonderful host. The only down side was that our room (Lavender Room) had no shower; but all the other rooms have showers - so pay attention when you make your reservation. Make your reservation on the Gardenia's web site.

Room Tip: All rooms have showers EXCEPT the Lavender Room.

This is a really nice B&B in a great location.....not too close, but close enough to walk just about anywhere....right on the bus/trolley lines and close to a lot of the more popular eatting spots!! The Host, John, was GREAT!!! We stayed in the Lily Room on the main floor and it was well appointed...bathroom a bit small (my dad wouldn't have fit in the shower, but then, he wasn't there!)...

Breakfasts were excellent....and John's recommendations were all SPOT ON.

Must also say that the BEDS and pillows were GREAT....and, for me, that is BIG. Slept well here!!!

Room Tip: Rooms upstairs had larger bathrooms, and some even had balconies.

The Gardenia Inn was a good choice for our recent overnight stay in San Antonio. It's located in the King William district near downtown where we loved seeing all of the old historic homes. It's also within easy walking distance of the Riverwalk and several good restaurants. It's close to the trolley stop too, but we didn't have time to try that out. Best of all, the parking is free so you can just leave your car there while exploring on foot or via the trolley.

We stayed in the Desert Blossom room on the top floor. On the positive side, it's actually a suite with a separate sitting aera and an alcove with an additional bed so it would be a good price performer for 3-4 people. On the not-so-positive side, the bathroom is small and does not have a tub like the other rooms. Oh, and be forewarned if you are a light sleeper that night noises abound -- train whistles from nearby train tracks and garbage trucks that make their rounds in the middle of the night. Of course, the innkeepers can't control the noises outside, but it's still worth pointing out. Speaking of the innkeepers, John took good care of us while we were there and also cooked a yummy breakfast. (We didn't get to meet his wife.) He also recommended a nearby restaurant for dinner which we enjoyed trying out. Last but not least, he graciously accepted our bedandbreakfast.com gift certificates as part of our payment. Thanks, John!

Beautiful building and furnishings. Excellent mattresses. Very convenient location - attractions and good restaurants walking distance or via convenient transportation. The innkeeper, John, is truly hospitable, and doubles as chef for excellent breakfasts. We had four mornings of gourmet treats. Housekeepers Rosemary and Pricilla keep the house and antique furnishings spotless.

Room Tip: Each one has its own charm - we were in Bluebonnet -

John was an amazing host, he has lots of tips where to go for lunch or dinner, knows the area and even has tip for a seldom rainy day in San Antonio.

The rooms are clean and spacious, the beds are super comfy, the breakfast was delicious and I loved the swing on the front porch.

What I probably liked most was the breakfast, as it was served on a community table so that all guest could have a nice chat (if they wanted) and exchange some ideas what to do in San Antonio and surroundings.

We are looking forward to come back some time.

Room Tip: Bluebonnet is probably my favorite, Lily is on the ground floor (still a couple of steps at the entr...
