Mark Bliss, previous owner of Silo, has the most amazing restaurant in the city! The food is an absolutely bliss! The menu is very high quality and quite adventurous. The appetizers we had were amazing: one was a sweetbread and italian beans in a broth, I could have had a whole bowl of this stuff and be completely satisfied! my husband had the spring rolls with a thai chili sauce, he was very pleased as well. We skipped the salad course and went straight to the entrees. I ordered the Maine "perfectly" seared sea scallops, pepperjack-white cheddar grits, sautéed spinach, avocado mousse, and cilantro lime jalapeno beurre blanc. OMG! they were amazing, probably the best scallops i have ever had. My hubby order the Duck breast and Foie Gras with grilled onion & red chard risotto, black pepper orange sauce. the wine list is not very good, but the food makes up for it. maybe next time we will bring our own wine.

“Good, but expensive”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

Good food and great service. Entrees and appetizers were very tasty, but we thought the appetizers were pricey for the size of the portions. Nice wine list. We had a good time.

“Where the local foodies dine”
Reviewed January 1, 2013

Recommended by a shopowner in the art district, this is where the local foodies dine. The menu is trendy American with a good deal of French and Asian thrown in. We loved everything we ate from the wine to the bread to dessert. The decor is minimal and tasteful. Loved it!

“Some things were great, some weren't”
Reviewed December 6, 2012

We were very excited to try Bliss on our recent trip to San Antonio. In fact, it was my wife's birthday dinner. First the good. The food was actually very good. I had the scallops and they were very good. The space is very nice too. Now the not so good. It took forever to get our food. I wasn't in a rush and I didn't mind lingering over dinner, but it took a LONG time. It was probably an hour from the time we placed our order until our food arrived. Bliss also lacks a liquor license so cocktails before dinner or after dinner drinks are out of the question. Overall, the restaurant was nice, but probably not worth the price.

“What a Rare Combination, Comfort & Quality at Bliss!”
Reviewed November 25, 2012

Six of us went for an evening of "Bliss" after reading reviews and one of the couples encouraged us by a previous visit. Each of us agreed to try a unique entree and appetizer so we could try to cover several segments of the meun to check for quality control and also enjoy many different items. There are always going to be some fresh entrees that will be seasonal but on our visit each and every dish was prepared as advertised and the results were really sensational. Four of the six attendees with me rated the effort at 5 star while 2 people (the hard graders) rated the overall experience a 4 star. My summation of the evening was a 5 star because the management could squeeze four or five more tables into this space and they don't. The wait staff is very professional in not pushing either individual items or bum rushing people in and out. The result is, relax and enjoy the food and wine and take your time and you too will find..."bliss"
The highest rated entrees were the duck with foie gras and the flounder. The beef tongue special appetizer and the beet salad were very well prepared and delicious. Dessert choices were familiar names but each one was done to perfection and not to be missed. Parking is also a BIG plus as downtown areas in San Antonio can be annoying to find a place easily.
