This was a great choice for our family of five. Room was good size and well cared for. Breakfast was nice with plenty of seating. Nice free parking. We walked downtown to riverwalk, Alamo, etc. although on a hot day it's quite a walk. Shorter walk to Market Square.
Would stay here again.
On some travel sites this is listed as a River Walk hotel. It is a pretty good walk to get to the nearest River Walk entry point. Our room was clean and well-equipped. The complimentary breakfast was ok, but nothing special. The outdoor pool was nice, but closed at 10:00 p.m.
Location is about .09 from downtown, which makes it close to walk. No airport shuttle(bummer) the staff was polite and met every need. The location needs benches around the sides so smokers don't let smoke blown in front door. The breakfast is good just basic , the coffee was poor it was like instant but in a machine no other coffee place close. If I returned I would look closer at the La Quinta convention center do to closer to the main downtown & river-walk. Over all this is a good hotel in a safe area.
We were here for the George Straight concert in June. It's a great location; however, it is pretty good walk to the River and downtown. There is a shuttle bus pickup that is directly in front of the hotel taking you downtown. The only disadvantage is that it stops running at 11:00 p.m. So if you are going for an event you will have to walk back. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful answering some of our questions. The room was very spacious with a very comfortable bed. Their parking is free, where as most downtown hotels charge a fee of $25 per day for parking. We will definitely stay there again.
