We stayed here for a quick visit before kids go back to school. 2 Nights. 5th floor room with a view of the city. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean and was big enough for all 5 of us. The parking was expensive, but that is probably the fault of the City of San Antonio and not Marriott. Breakfast was a Circus, altoough the quality was ok for a mid-range hotel. You'd think some people haven't eaten in days. It wasn't good enough to fight over, so the second morning we found an IHOP.
Location is great if you want to do the Alamo and Mall. Price is good for a San Antonio Hotel..they always seemed over priced. Downtown seemed extra-dirty this time. What's up an Antonio? Ever heard of "power washing"?! I'd stay here again, if I have kids in tow. But for adult only stay, there are places with better amenities.

Everything there was perfect. No complaint at all, very clean, friendly staff, happy and friendly guests too. Only one thing was that the pool was too small but was ok since we spent most of the time at the watet parks. Will def stay there again

Close to river walk, Great Breakfast, Nice Large spacious rooms, great for a family. Pool was a little small, but nice. We made revervations in advance tried to check in early since we were traveling with children, no rooms were ready. So that part was a little disappointting. Also not enough Carts for your Luggage. Valet parking was a little slow. Other than that our stay was nice.
Towels were also nice and soft. Flat screen Tv was awesome :). If u are traveling with small children and plan to walk to the river walk , be prepared to carry them ,or take a stollers or wagon, your arms will thank U.

We booked 3 nights at this hotel because of its location..It is walking distance from the Alamo, Riverwalk and Entertainment. The Rooms were clean and quite spacious, loved that we had a microwave and mini fridge, it came so in handy with all of our leftovers. Lobby and Breakfast area was nicely decorated and clean. The laundry room should have at least another washer and dryer, I believe one of each is too little. $21 a night for Valet is a little too much. The breakfast is okay, but for the price "free" you shouldn't complain. Overall we loved the Hotel..We can definitely stay here again when we return to San Antonio.

We booked a 4-night stay online at the sister property to the Springhill, the Fairfield. When we arrived, they had overbooked, and we didn't get the suite we had booked. After spending one night at the Fairfield, management transferred us to the SpringHill, giving us our first night at half price and a $10 discount on our final two nights. I must say, the Marriott Corporation's management team does go the extra mile to make sure their guests are compensated. The room was larger and nicer, and the breakfast was better than at the Fairfield, so we got a better deal. This is the second time we have had a problem at a Marriott property, and both times we were satisfied with the way management handled the situation and the level of compensation for our troubles. Kudos to the manager, Daniel.
The SpringHill Suites rooms were well appointed. I have stayed In more spacious rooms in downtown San Antonio, but it was comfortable. Only negative was the small sink area.
A word of caution, there are only about 5 employees in the valet parking department that services both the Fairfield and the SpringHill. Give them ample time to retrieve your car. Poor guys are overworked! This is a management problem, so don't take it out on the valet.
This property is located at a busy intersection in an very busy city. Expect street noise. It is unavoidable. If you want to stay downtown, there aren't too many places you can stay that are quiet. I know. I have stayed in over 14 of the downtown hotels.
For the area (downtown San Antonio), the price was good. I felt I got what I paid for.

I love the location of this hotel and that is why I chose this one. The valet only parking is a hassle, $21 per day, and there are no valets present half the time. I was there for 4 nights for a convention, and they had not replaced any soap in my bathroom after the 3rd night. I had to ask for more soap. The housekeeping did not even pick up a dirty towel on the floor in the bathroom after the second night. They have a very good breakfast. Obviously downtown is a little more expensive and the rate was good, but add the valet parking and it is only average.
