“Well thought out drinks & food”

Fantastic cocktails, a great happy hour, and the big red empenada was unbelievably good. We stopped in for happy hour one day and fell in love with the prohibition era decor and cocktails, but returned the next day and found out the food was just as great. If I lived in San Antonio, this would be my go to bar and the place I would take guests looking for a cool place.

“Fantastic meal with great drinks,in a great location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2013

We sat on the balcony and had chicken mole with some fantastic craft beer. The food was absolutely amazing and the view was great. We loved sitting over looking the river. It was very nice to watch the Halloween parade of boats go by.

Our only complaint was our service was a little dismissive, when we were seated with our drinks from the bar- even though we ordered more. He also pouted when we did not order dessert. The up sale pressure was not attractive.

“Try the Moscow Mules!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2013

Over four days, my girlfriends would stop in again and again. It has that tavern/saloon feel - nice, classic. Many of the staff were friendly and helpful. We did have the fries one day, and they were good. They have a list of specialty drinks - The Moscow Mule in a copper cup, was my fave!

“Great Bar”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2013 via mobile

This place was recommended by a local friend. The bar is old school and very cool. This is off the beaten path and non touristry. You should sit at the bar and order a house specialty drink. Bartenders were very good.

“Nice quiet lunch on the Balcony.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2013

We had just arrived in town and wanted to grab a bite to eat. We walked in and it was very dark (like a bar should be). It wasn't what we were looking for that night. It looked like the crowd was having fun but we just weren't up for partying. I had read the reviews prior to our arrival and decided to try it again on Saturday for lunch. I'm glad we did. It was a nice quiet lunch on the balcony and the food was awesome. The drinks are priced really high. Average price for a drink is $10. No doubt that the drinks are awesome and unique but I would expect to get drunk here at those prices. Nonetheless we enjoyed our lunch and desert. You must try the homemade apple pie here, a la mode!
