Our hotel room was directly across the river from this bar and we noticed it was always busy. We popped in for lunch on day and it was fantastic. The menu has great cocktails to choose from and the bartenders know what they are doing. Food was fantastic too. Glad we stopped in.

We checked out the menu before settling on eating at this restaurant. It had a great selection of tex/mex and southern style foods. I was a little disappointed that they were out of what I had chosen, but the waiter was very patient and helped me decide between the rest of the entrees. They also have a great selection of drinks. Again, much help from our waiter to decide on one. The atmosphere of this place is amazing! If feels like you are in a place to relax with a drink in style! The outdoor seating overlooks the River Walk from above. But it is very limited with only several tables available.

For being the Riverwalk's oldest bar, it has a great modern patina of style. The food was great. Great style points on the classic burger and fries. The onion dip was awesome!
Fantastic place to sit and drink a beer on the balcony.

We were on the Riverwalk and found the Esquire Bar for a quick hamburger dinner. It was too cold to sit outside, unfortunately, but the bar atmosphere made up for it. Old, long, wooden bar and booths with overstuffed cushions. Hamburgers were good, nothing outstanding, but not overpriced. Service was spotty. We got much better service after we complained.

This was one of our favorite places on the Riverwalk. The decor is really neat and the longest bar in Texas is really something to see and sit at. We had the fried pickled beets which were really good and different! Make sure you go to this bar for at least a drink while in San Antonio!
