Description: San Antonio is now home to acclaimed Chef John Besh’s restaurant, Lüke, on the city's famed Riverwalk, Besh's first restaurant outside of his home state of Louisiana. The casual chic bistro features a menu of authentic Old World cuisine, combining classic German and French cooking techniques served in a warm and inviting space of stylish vintage interior, situated in San Antonio's popular downtown district. At the helm of the kitchen of Lüke is Executive Chef John Russ, born and raised in New Orleans. At Restaurant August, Chef Russ began to form the relationship with John Besh and he learned the importance of forming relationships with farmers and fisherman, which would later be reinforced by his time working on farms in Alabama, New Hampshire, New York and Maryland. Chef Russ returned to the Besh Restaurant Group as Chef de Cuisine on the invitation of Chef Besh. To complement its cuisine, Lüke offers an extensive wine list and beer selection.

“Classiest Happy Hour in Town”

Not only the best place for seasoned eats, Luke is an amazing happy hour destination. Their craft cocktails are a delight as are their appetizers. I can't visit without getting at least a cup of gumbo. I love this place so much I made a Thanksgiving reservation. Sorry Mom!

“Great Happy Hour.... like everyone says!”
Reviewed November 20, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

The server was awesome! He handled my wife's indecisiveness and my vegetarianism with grace. When told I was a vegetarian (an unusual request when they have amazing $.50 oysters during happy hour, my wife can attest) he didn't even blink and said the chef could make something for me (what was made was maybe three stars, but pretty good for going off menu).

The drinks were great, very creative cocktails, the location on the river walk was stellar, the atmosphere was a little cold... think french bistro stuffed into a hotel restaurant space (which it is on the first floor of a hotel), but they did what they could with the wicker chairs and tiled floors to make it feel nice. All in all, a very nice place... it's in the $$$ price range. We went for happy hour and still dropped $100 on dinner.

“John Besh Comes to Texas”
Reviewed November 2, 2013

The restaurant was excellent and was as good as any of John Besh's restaurants in New Orleans and we have eaten at all of them. I was quite surprised that the restaurant was in an Embassy Suites. The restaurant makes me want to consider staying at this Embassy Suite. My husband had the steak with bernaise sauce topped with crabmeat, I had the cerviche, and my mother had the crab and avocado salad. All were excellent . We also ordered the foie gras appetizer - yummy.
The French 75 was an excellent cocktail! Ask for Andre to serve you ; what great and friendly service. The manager came by and checked on us. The restaurant was a great stop on the way to the ATT Center to see Michael Buble. San Antonio is lucky to have this restaurant. We did not have to wait as another reviewer stated. We had a reservation.

“Another Besh restaurant success”
Reviewed October 31, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

Went with group of 12 folks for a birthday dinner. Have tried many of John Besh's restaurants and this certainly did not disappoint. Quality food and service throughout the meal. Wish John would open one in Austin.

“Good food - unique ambiance”
Reviewed October 29, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

The food was very good. However, you ought to be prepared to wait longer than average. The restaurant was part Sports Bar so you might take this into consideration. This would not be my choice for romantic dining. However, I would recommend it for other occasions.
