“Neat course”
Reviewed November 1, 2010

Played Silver Horn and Quarry also. This course was the most interesting and challenging, if played from the correct tee box. Lots of doglegs and elevation changes. Course was in great condition. Only drawback was the crowds. Not sure if Monday is just a busy day for them or ? But we played 18 holes in almost 7 hours. Had to wait on every hole for at least 10 minutes.

“Pecan Valley is a Must-Play Classic in San Antonio”
Reviewed September 29, 2010

A great, classic, historical, golf course located on the South side of San Antonio. The course is always in great shape. Greens are fast and smooth and fairways are tight. The course provides a challenge for all levels of golfers and the back tees play over 7000 yds. Truly a gem that any fan of golf would be happy to play.

“Historic course in exellent condition”
Reviewed September 23, 2008

Only in South Texas can you play on a PGA Championship course for under $50. Pecan Valley hosted the 1968 PGA Championship (Arnold Palmer lost on the 18th hole) and it is easy to stand on the tee box and look down a pecan tree lined fairway and imagine the scene.

The group that I regularly play with on Saturdays ranges from 30 handicappers to scratch golfers. I played with a 30 handicap and a 4 handicap at Pecan Valley and both enjoyed their day.

If you only have one chance to play golf in San Antonio you should consider Pecan Valley. If you do not mind spending $100 or more for a round go to the Palmer Course at La Cantera or The Quarry. If you are wanting to spend about $50 then Pecan Valley is an excellent choice.
