Owner description: Come on down (way down) at the largest underground attraction in Texas! Daily guided tours allow guests to explore large underground chambers and see huge formations. The largest room is bigger than a football field. Above ground, discover rocks, minerals, and rough-cut gems at the Natural Bridge Mining Company Sluice. The Canopy Challenge will test your agility on over 40 different obstacles while you are on our 4 story, 60 foot high Adventure Course. Then you can fly across the scenic Texas Hill Country on our zip-lines! (Canopy Challenge is open daily but weather dependent.)

Short distance from San Antonio and worth the drive. Our guide was patient and informative. Formations are breathtaking and wonderful to see.

The walk is tough; lots of inclines, some more steep than others. Few stairs. Narrow passageways that were sometimes low made some parts slow to navigate.

FYI-it's HOT in the caverns. Seventy degrees average with 99% humidity !(no kidding!) so it fells mid-80's when walking. High humidity made it hard to breathe toward the end of the tour. Not claustrophobic at all if you're worried.

Overall, really worth the sweat to see. Don't miss it!

This is very good attraction for its money. Better go in the Fall or Winter time, otherwise it is hot and humid for this attraction. The caverns is cooler indoors and lots of walking. Try it by yourself first, you can walk at your leasure and not have to talk to anyone.

Was worth renting a car and making the drive, very fascinating to see the caverns. Definitely visit the wildlife drive through zoo as well!

If you're vacationing in or around the San Antonio area, add this destination to your trip. We went on a weekend in August and there were a lot of people there, so you do need to plan to wait 20 minutes or so for your tour. Dress cool if you go in the summer. It was pretty warm even inside of the cavern. If you are claustrophobic or have bad knees, you might have some challenges during the tour. There were kids in our group and they seemed to do fine. My second grader enjoyed the experience, but did get a little scared toward the end of the tour due to the steep slopes we had to walk up before exiting and it does get slick in certain areas. Out of all of the stops we made in the San Antonio area, this was my favorite.

Been to this place for long weekend and the humidity inside is 99% and so even if temperature is 70 F cotton and light clothes are comfortable. Amazing formations from millions of years and you will love this place. Narrations are given in between. Cavern water is also very good.
