Owner description: This 200-year-old Franciscan mission at the very heart of the Mission Trail was originally built against claims of French colonization.

If you only have time to take in a couple of the old Spanish Missions. Make sure you take in this one and Mission San Jose. Unbelievable. Mobility scooter friendly. Free. Easy to get to and get around.

This mission is one that I rarely visit because there are so many well preserved Missions in San Antonio. My family recently visited Concepcion and noticed that the Mission Reach improvement have made a world of difference to the experience. This is a nice way to enjoy the rich history and beauty of San Antonio.

The mission is the oldest unrestored Catholic Church in North America (1755). It is still an active church today. A welcome place for people of all faiths.

This mission was cool but not nearly as cool as San Jose. There was not a whole lot to see like there is with the other and the church is much less breathtaking. However, I would still recommend visiting because it is a fabulous piece of history.

We were lucky enough to arrive just as a ranger lead tour was starting. He was very good indeed, a guy called Danny. Interesting and knowledgable. This is a smaller church and the least restored which is nice. They have some good paintings as well in the church itself and the remains of murals which are a hard to spot unless they are pointed out.
