“Mystical and Inspiring Original Art Frescoes”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 1, 2013

We visited all the missions in San Antonio and this mission was very mystical and soul searching.

The original art frescoes of the time of the missions heyday are eerily inspiring.

To be able to see the worship areas large and small in the way the people viewed them at the time is a most unusual experience. You expect that the person next to you could be right from the time of the missions glory.

The condition of the mission is exceptional in all respects and should not be missed.

The grounds are fairly small and very well kept.

“Bygone Spanish Days”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 23, 2013

This mission looks almost out of place in the United States as it is reminiscent of colonial buildings found in the former colonies of the Caribbean. The edifice is strong and very elegant. The details inside are intrinsic and the overall architecture reminds one of a time where people found solutions to their everyday problems with simple ingenuity and not that much technology. Not that difficult to get to if you have a car but just a bit removed from Downtown San Antonio. If you are in SA, then it is a definite stop as it alludes to the time when Texas was not American but Mexican/Spanish.

“We Could Not Find This Mission”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 14, 2013

We saw the other missions in the area and were disappointed not to be able to find this one. We know we were close as we followed the signs as far as we could but there was some contruction and they did not do a good job of putting out signs in the area to get people to the mission. What a pity!

Parking was good and the mission is very interesting and you can get very good photos if the sun is right.

“Beautiful, historic, interesting!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2013

Mission Concepcion is a beautiful, peaceful place to visit. I went on a Monday and it wasn't busy. Great opportunities to take photos. It was nice going after the Day of the Dead and seeing all the altars -- very moving. I had intended on seeing all the missions in one day, but only got to this one and Mission San Jose. Take your time and don't rush it. Enjoy the place at a nice leisurely pace.
