Nice historical place to visit. My family enjoyed looking at this and learning a bit about our history here in Texas.

“Inspirational visit”
Reviewed July 21, 2013

another must see on the Mission Trail. Too many things to briefly state here about why, but not to be missed because it is so peaceful and sacred, while also helping a visitor appreciate the context of what was happening in the area at that time.

Known for frescos that once adorned the walls, although faded, are interesting to see. Lots of history.

“Beautiful”

This is an absolutely beautiful mission. Very much worth the time to go see. The church is just stunning, and you can stay for a mass if you want to. Loved it.

“Grand old mission”
Reviewed July 14, 2013

We were encouraged to visit the other missions in San Antonio on our visit. This was the first visit we made and were very impressed by how well preserved the mission is. While there are no tours available, there is a park ranger on site to help answer any questions you may have. I would encourage you to visit the other missions, as they are only 3 miles or 4.8 km apart. The mission still holds services and reverence is encouraged. There are several educational plaques around the mission to provide further insight into the grand old mission.

They have restored some of the interior glory this mission once provided to patrons. Upon gazing at the splendid colors, you will occasionally see a "dull" color on the wall. This is the original structure that has been left un-restored to provide a glimpse of what it looked like back when the mission was first built.

The restrooms are by the visitor's center.
