An informative museum which has quite a few exhibits that can appeal to children - including a large collection of toys.

Great history lessons for adults or kids of all ages. Many exhibits have touchy feely stuff for everyone and folks dressed up like cowboys, pioneers, etc. I highly recommend !

Plan to spend several hours here to learning about the cultures represented in Texas, how they came to Texas and why they stayed. Do Not Miss the 'Back 40' exhibit out back, this gives visitors a glimpse of what life was like in Texas In the early years.

Special exhibits during this time - 'Timeless Texas Toys' and products 'Made in Texas'

Great place to beat the heat and everyone in the family will enjoy the experience!

If you have out of town - or better yet, out of country visitors, this is the place to take them...the history of Texas is right there and it is divided into the different cultural settlers...also easy to walk through and very cool. Great place

Make sure you have two days for this one. During the summer they have school kids as guides and actors in the "Back 40". These kids are hard workers and know their history; they also bring humor with their programs. There are older volunteers inside showing the arts of weaving, spinning yarn, and quilting. Sadly we were short on time and couldn't stay long.
