We took the bus ride out to the gardens to see a different part of the city as well as the gardens. What a beautiful, restful place! Well laid out and easy to manage. Beautiful city views and lots of places to rest. I, too, enjoyed the Halloween/autumn features. I hope that they do that for all the holidays. As a non-Texan, I enjoyed the Texas Trail. The signage is informative without being a science lesson. It is very easy to get to the gardens. The bus goes from downtown, past the zoo, directly to the gate. I think it runs at least every half hour. Buy a bus pass for 4 dollars for unlimited travel--free at times for seniors. Being in the leafy part of town, adds to the relaxing atmosphere. Staff friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. Dollar of coupons available at most hotels and visitors' center. Otherwise 8 dollars per adult.

Visited yesterday. Amusing display of scarecrows with different themes. Lots of beautiful colourful flowers. Very funny ducks that ran to the machine in which you put 25 cents to get a handful of duck food when they saw us coming. Well worth many repeat visits. Ate in the little restaurant. Tasty food at a reasonable price.

I think the gardens are on 40 acres, and it does not disappoint. It's easy to walk and is handicap accessible. They do a great job of decorating the gardens for different holidays. The young ones love the kids gardens. There are several conservatories showcasing different plants from around the world.

This is a fabulous botanical garden and they have a great conservatory there with many plants that I've not seen at other botanical gardens. The grounds are extensive and beautiful. It was well worth the time we took to visit there.
