We had a wonderful stay. Everyone we met was friendly. We stayed at Gateway Lodge. The rooms were great. Tv, with vhs and dvd, lots of channels. Provided coffee in room maker with the single pack maker, caff and decaf and both teas, all with cups and straws and coffee fixings. Very room. Desk and wifi. Lots of storage. There is also a little small shop across from front desk. Has hour dogs for $1 & you can get chili and cheese. Free coffee and hit chocolate. Has a little of everything. Sweet lady that runs during the day is delightful. There is a mini mall just about a block away, call mini Bx. There is a store with a little of everything. There is a Starbucks, Popeye's Chicken, Subway, Chinese and Dominoes. You can get all kinds AF momentos there. I recommend spending a dollar for a 3 min chair massage. They are in hall and it felt great. Also there is a commissary, but you have to have someone with military ID to buy there. The prices are great and right across is another larger BX with everything and a food court.

Great place to visit. You do need passes to get on base. But just a huge place to support our troops. God Bless America.

The base was huge. There was museums to see and lots of air planes to see in the fleet. The bowling alley you couldn't get into on Thursday or Friday. Tooo many people. It was very interesting. Attending graduation was an amazing event.

First, you must have access to a miliary base to enter. Not open for touring. I was stationed there in 1975 and wanted to return for nostalgic reasons. The base is easy to navigate and has an ITT for discount tickets. We purchased some for the Caverns and Wild Animal park. There are two Gateway Inns on base. The exchange and commissary are open to retirees.

My son enjoyed the static displays.
I enjoyed the selection at the commissary and BX.
We've made several visits and have found new things to see each time.
