Aloha! New hotel located a block away from northstar mall and the airport. Good ambience when you enter. Room ac was ok one of those cheap hotel window unit ones and never seemed able to catch up and fully cool the room the way i like it had me sweating, but then again i am a polar bear. Large windows high 9 ft cielings good location next to expressway for easy access. Restroom doesnt have good lighting so for people putting on makeup might not appreciate this. Large shower with big glass doors. Free wireless internet, free parking. Huge flatscreen tv with around 6 hdtv channels.

This hotel is new. Very contemporary. I loved the layout of the room! The shower is large, full glass door, with soap and shampoo dispenser. No fumbling around with a small bar of soap. The bed is firm, crisp white sheets. The bathroom door is a pocket door with no lock, but I wouldn't be sharing a room with someone to begin with who would walk in on me anyway. Very clean. Word of caution. Don't stay near the elevator! When my daughter and I arrived Corona was having party on the pool deck along with a fashion show. The men were wearing more make-up than me. I was told by the front desk staff, who were extremely courteous that the party ended at 8:30. The party and music did indeed end as promised. There is a coffee/juice/fruit bar, but not a "restaurant". This is definitely for the younger crowd. Wish this hotel would have been around 20 years ago! I would definitely recommend it for the 20-30 crowd. There were children ages 5-10 around the pool without supervison.

We recently stayed at the San Antonio Aloft hotel with our Miniature schnauzer for a little vacation. I found this hotel online before it had even opened and decided it was just the boutique hotel experience we were looking for and on top of that, it was super pet friendly! We had an amazing time, the rooms were modern and cozy. We loved the stand up glass enclosed shower and the storage unit for all of our luggage and clothes. The bar and lounge in the reception were very modern, young, open and welcoming. The huge enclosed dog run area near the pool was a major plus; we spent a lot of time out there with our puppy. The staff was so friendly, hospitable, and quick to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The hotel was very close (walking distance) to tons of places to eat and shop. The breakfast bar in the lobby was great to for a quick bite on our way out of the door. I would definitely stay at this or any other Aloft hotel, especially if we are traveling with our puppy! I think our dog had just as good a time as we did.

I recently stayed at this hotel with a friend while visiting family in San Antonio. Having lived in San Antonio for 23 years before moving 6 years ago, I'm very familiar with the city and the location of this hotel is extremely misplaced. One, it's surrounded by shopping centers and not directly off the highway like most places. It's easy to miss if you're not looking in the right place. Two, the area is definitely not the greatest, although renovations appear to be taking place to help improve the quality of this part of the city. You don't have to drive too far past Aloft before places start looking shady, so staying near the highway is advisable.

In terms of the hotel, it's aesthetically appealing inside and out near the pool area. There's a pool table and bar right past the lobby, which was nice. Beware of the "snack bar" area which was basically an overpriced convenience store. You're better off grabbing snacks at the nearby Target, which was within walking distance. When we arrived there was some kind of event going on, so it was a little noisy and only one person was working the front desk. The wait time for check in could stand to be shorter, but overall it was a simple process.

The room was standard with a king bed and had a connecting door to another room, which I wasn't too happy about. The walls were already relatively thin, so having the gap with the adjoining room wasn't helping with noise. If you're expecting any type of a view, you'll be disappointed, as the place is surrounded by the shopping center and a new parking garage that is being built. The room itself had a great color scheme and modern sink and shower in the bathroom. The door to the toilet and shower (no tub) is sliding and doesn't lock, so if you're not comfortable with the person you're with, this may not be the right room for you. Other amenities included a mini fridge, one cup coffee maker, A/V box to plug in your electronics, blow dryer, ironing board/iron and cordless phones. Although there was a good sized LCD TV on the wall in front of the bed, I would hardly call it an amenity. Channels are very slow to change and one night it kept turning off for no reason. The bed was also disappointing for the type of place this is. The comforter made an obnoxious rustling noise anytime you moved and the pillows went so flat that it felt like I wasn't using one. In addition to the noise from the comforter, the outside noises were also quite annoying. Because this area is literally right in the middle of a new shopping center and very close to the highway, traffic can be heard at all hours of the night. We could hear dump trucks early in the morning.

If Aloft was downtown or near the Shops at La Cantera, I would have given this place a much higher rating. Unfortunately, I've stayed at much cheaper places with better amenities that aren't awkwardly built in an area that clearly needs to be gentrified for it to fit in. This place is aesthetically what I like when I travel, but unfortunately it fell short of my expectations of a W hotel.

Wow! I stayed at this hotel, as we came to San Antonio to see the sights... Riverwalk, etc... What a deal! Much cheaper than anything I could get downtown and the drive was only about 12 minutes... This hotel is moder and looks like a mini W Hotel... Loved it!
