Dined here after a long drive. Our meals were delicious. Grilled tuna and caprese salad. Service was excellent, our waiter was friendly and gave us sights to see during our trip. Recommended a local vodka that was excellent also. Beautiful restaurant on a quiet section of the riverwalk.

We ate here while at a business convention in San Antonio. The restaurant was not that crowded even though it was very close to St. Patrick's Day. This is likely due to the fact that Zocca is in the Westin hotel and not on "restaurant row' of the riverwalk. We sat outside by the river which was really enjoyable because the weather was perfect (which is rare in San Antonio because of heat and humidity).
The food was good and the value seemed fair for the portions we received. However, the one noticable thing lacking was expereienced service. Our waiter, although not attentive, did seem somewhat knowledgable, but the hostess couldn't have been out of high school and was extremely inexperienced. I noticed the wait staff at other tables (because we were seated so close) was not nearly as knowledgable as our waiter and like us they waited a while for their food. Fortunately, we did have bread while waiting on our food because it did take a while to receive our entrees. In all fairness, the good food and ambiance of eating by the river was so enjoyable that I had to give four stars, but this is one time I wish I could use half points because the service just wasn't up to par. If I could I would have given 3 and 1/2 stars for this one.

Had a Panini for lunch. Service was a little slow to start, but I was there at the end of the lunch window. Panini and fries were both very good, though the "spiced" fries were just salted. Serving size was quite generous, and the staff checked on me several times to ensure everything was OK. Panini and fries were under $10, which for a hotel restaurant is a great deal.

Zocca sits on the Riverwalk level of the Westin Hotel and was quite crowded the night that we were there. The menu is very nice, but the execution and service are in need of improvement.

The pasta we ordered was simple -- Fettucini Alfredo and Tortellini. Though we waited quite a long time for the entrees to be brought, they were lukewarm when they arrived, most likely sitting under the heat lamps until the relatively inexperienced staff got around to picking the items up from the kitchen line. Then before we could taste them, the servers disappeared not to be seen for a long time.

Service throughout the meal was very uneven. The instant we sat before even getting a change to look at the menu, a novice busboy appeared at the table wanting to take a drink order. When queried about the different kinds of beer, he clearly had no idea ... and, in fact, he may have been too young to even drink a beer. Some time later, another young man approached the table who was somewhat more experienced in the menu, but had no clue about table service.

The biggest disappointment of the night, however, was the gelato. Though tasty, the portion size was an embarrassment to the property given the price. Not a nice way to end a so so meal.

Very friendly service, good atmosphere, good food and reasonably priced. Our waiter, Raul, was great! Timing was very good, wait staff attentive but didn't hover. I am gluten free and Zocca has a gluten free menu which has a lot of different options. Raul brought me gluten free bread as well as regular for my husband. Zocca offers two portion sizes for most menu options which was nice. They serve breakfast, too, with GF options that include pancakes and French toast which I have never seen offered before in a restaurant.
