Took family for New Years and was awesome as always. Had a pleasure of running into Eugene Schlaff. Very nice man that takes his work seriously.

I utilized TripAdvisor (of course) to scout out good restaurants on the Riverwalk where a group of 12 (including 6 children) could eat together and not break the bank. Based on the descriptions and reviews on TripAdvisor, Zocca fit the bill. We got even luckier when we found out that it was attached to the Westin where we were all staying. We made reservations for 12 and were seated right away (it was 530p and being January, overall Riverwalk traffic was light).

I had the Chicken Marsala with risotto and it was simply delicious. My wife had the Parpadelle with seafood and it was one of the best interpretations she's ever had. The Seafood Saffron Risotto was also creamy and delicious.

If they keep cooking this way and providing good service, I have no doubts that Zocca should move up the rankings.

The food here was incredible and our server was one of the most friendly and attentive I have ever experienced. I was traveling with my mother who has a gluten allergy, and they were extremely accommodating to her gluten free diet. There was a gluten free menu available and they even brought gluten free bread to the table. This is extremely rare in San Antonio, and extremely rare for an Italian restaurant anywhere. Their gluten free pastas are made in house. Whether you're needing to accommodate a gluten free allergy or not, this is deifnitely a place to have a nice dinner with fantastic service.

The atmosphere was romantic, but also suitable for a family with children, if you sat outside. The food was great! Yumm!
