Drury Inn & Suites San Antonio Riverwalk

There are many signs that the Drury Riverwalk Inn and Suites hasn't been renovated in a couple decades - the decor, the colors, the carpet, but most of all the mounted shampoo/ conditioner/ soap dispenser in the bower. That was only popular for 2 days in 1987. But I like the Drury. It is perfectly located, the staff is absurdly friendly, and they don't nickel and dime you with Internet and breakfast charges. Another thing I love is that the windows really open -- I could opening window and let the fresh air and Riverwalk buzz into the room. It's not the Four Seasons, but won't pay those prices either.

And by "echoes" I mean that I can only echo all the positive reviews of this hotel. In October, my husband and I enjoyed four nights at the Drury Inn and Suites Riverwalk in San Antonio and I can assure anyone choosing this hotel that the ambience, accommodation, location and effort of the staff would ensure a pleasant experience. We will certainly recommend this hotel to our friends and would definitely choose the Drury Inn and Suites Riverwalk again.

Loved the mattresses, pillows & bedding. A/C was awesome. Set a cold temp and it holds it without cycling all night long. True central air, not a unit installed below a window. Very clean. Really liked having a recliner in the room. Our room had a balcony over the Riverwalk with two patio chairs. Mariachi music was playing below adding to the ambiance. The food service was what we have come to expect from a Drury Inn. Three free cocktails and hot food in the evening. Nachos, salad, beans & franks, Mac & cheese, crudités...to name a few items. Breakfast is a hot meal...scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, biscuits & gravy, oatmeal, pastries, cereal and fruit. You must carry your card key at all times to access the lobby from the outside. I assume this is to prevent the public from partaking of the free food and for security purposes. I definitely felt safe here. Parking garage is adjacent to and behind the hotel. Watch for a narrow drive before the main entrance to pull in alongside the building. You'll be met by an attendant with a clipboard who checks your name on the list of reservations. A nice touch was having the front desk call after we reached our room to verify we were happy and determine if we needed anything. You are only steps a away from a stroll on the Riverwalk. Highly recommend this hotel!!

This hotel was just right in every way. The price was great. The service was great and the room was great. The hotel's front desk personnel started the stay off great. They were friendly and courteous. When we went to our room it was clean and big. The bed was very comfortable. The next morning the breakfast was amazing. We had a big waffle breakfast. It was awesome. My checkout days later was fast and pleasant. I give this hotel thumbs up and will return.

Awesome location and clean rooms. We had a room with a RiverWalk view which was nice. Would highly suggest to friends! Be aware that the 5:30 Kickback with the "Free Drinks and Food" only includes 3 free drinks... We hadn't read anywhere that we were limited to only 3 prior to checking in. Still, it's 3, quite strong ;), free drinks so not much to gripe about :)

This is an older hotel with a lot of charm. The entire staff is very friendly. We stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed the breakfast and 5:30 kickback each day. Free drinks and food really make this place a deal. Beds were comfortable and rooms were quiet. The location is convenient to the Riverwalk and the Alamo. Only drawback is if you come by car, be prepared to pay to park each day. There was no valet parking (which we liked). You park on the same level as your room (3rd floor room, park level 3) which is very convenient. You do not need the elevator to get to your car. I would stay here again! Also, we had a local relative drive in to visit us at the hotel and she was allowed to park free while there.

We are from New England and stayed here for three nights. Everything about the hotel was great except for our room which was small and dark. Our room was in one of the additions to the building and had a terrace. If I return, I would request a room without a terrace because the view (5th floor) was not good and there was only one window. The matress was the best ive slept on. The roof (pool) deck was quite a pleasant place to relax and read a book. The location is excellent and every member of the staff was pleasant and helpful. The building, which was once a public building, was beautiful and well maintained. We liked free breakfast and later food and drinks served in the lobby.
Before making a plan to visit local attractions, review the plan of the Riverwalk as you can get to or at least many of the attractions by avoiding the surface traffic and street crossings.
