“All around wonderful stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2012

There is really nothing but good and total satisfaction for my stay. The staff at this hotel go out of their was to be friendly and helpful. This hotel is beautiful and spotless!! I think they even had some kind of wonderful fragrance being pumped into the hallways. The room is also extremely spacious with very modern updated decor. I felt like I was staying in a small apartment. The complimentry breakfast was restaurant quality and not like most of the run of the mill continental breakfasts. They offered 24 hour food if desired and even allowed you use of some kitchen facilities such as dishes, spoons, microwave, table and chairs. The amenities were also top notch. I purchased this hotel via priceline for a very reasonable price. It was actually a steal! Priceline rated this a 3 star. I feel this hotel should be nothing less than a four star at minimum. I actually booked 2 additional nights at this chain a few days later in a different location since we loved it so much. I will definitely stay here again in the future.

Room Tip: higher food provided a lovely view of the area.

This was a nice hotel with a great, very helpful staff. The staff was very knowledgeable of the area and helped us find all that we were looking for. The riverwalk is right out the backdoor with a 10 min walk to the main tourist area. It is a little bit further than ideal from this area, but for the price, it was definitely worth the walk.

The location of Hyatt Place Riverwalk is ideal--within walking distance of restaurants and tourist sites but away from the crowded section of the Riverwalk. The staff is great--friendly, helpful and always "on call". The free breakfast is typical hotel breakfast--McDonald's with silverware.
Our room was clean and had a nice view of the riverwalk. However, whoever designed the room should have to spend two or three nights there. The sitting area and kitchenette area are too large, the bathroom and closet are too small. One literally has to wedge oneself between the toilet bowl and the shower stall to close the bathroom door. The closet is right next to the wash basin, so if one person needs to get clothing, and the other is washing her face--collision!
The air conditioner was loud, but at least it worked well.
We enjoyed our visit to San Antonio, and were very pleased with the free parking, staff, and location of the hotel. The rooms left so much to be desired that we will probably not return on subsequent visits.

I stayed in a room with double beds and received so much included for free such as parking, breakfast, a pull-out sofa bed in a generous sitting area, a big tv, and great customer service that helped even with directions. The bathroom was just a little small, but it was clean. I chose a riverview room with a balcony, and the view was beautiful. The first floor has easy access to the walkway along the riverwalk. The shops and restaurants are farther up though, but I liked the quiet after spending all day sightseeing. It was perfect.

I would definitely recommend this hotel. A huge perk is the free parking (there's nothing more annoying than paying a lot of money for a hotel on the riverwalk, and then having to pay extra for parking). The hotel is about a 10 minute walk along the river (the backdoor opens right out to the river) to the main touristy section of the riverwalk, or I think you can walk the streets to get there a little faster. We don't mind walking at all, so this was a perfect location to be close to the action but far enough away to have quiet time and free parking. The breakfast was free, and actually good. The staff was very courteous. The reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is that my room smelled funny (not intolerable...) from the a/c. Also, the bathroom was tiny...I'm pretty sure the door hit against the toilet a little bit every time I closed it.

I liked this Hyatt in the way that I usually like Hyatts, they are very consistently pleasant, but I have to comment on how friendly Tim was at reception. I came in at 2:30 am due to a delayed flight, and there was Tim, ready and willing to do anything he could in order to help me get settled in, and greeting me by name. I was only there a few hours, but that really impressed me. Also, the breakfast was very good.

We made a last minute trip to San Antonio and in wanting to get some Hyatt points, booked this hotel. Having stayed at Hyatt Places recently, we knew of the upgrades the chain has done. the room was just as expected and comfortable. The misnomer is that you are "Close" to the riverwalk (about 2 blocks) but it is a safe walk to get there.

Room Tip: If you get an upper floor (5,6,7) you have some great views. the rooms on the back side of the hote...
