What a cool place; gift shop, gardens, art and interactive art. A great place to chill out. You can get there via the River Walk or the street entrance. Lots of locals having lunch.

The main school is now across the street so see if they have any exhibits. This is a beautiful old convent now home to a good inexpensive lunch at the Copper Kitchen - and a great gift shop with original art, jewelry and a variety of items made by local artists. Some can be pricey but one of a kind. It's on the banks of the river and across the street from the San Antonio Main Library nicknamed the Big Enchilada with a wonderful Chihuly glass sculpture.

A restored convent school on the upper (North) end of the River Walk. Now an Arts and Crafts school. Great gift shop (but it is closing), cosy restaurant for lunch only, and fabulous grounds. Also very interesting church/chapel interior and museum. I was last there for Fiesta when there were bands and booths with arts and crafts. No charge for admission and free parking. Stop here and leave your car for a walk along the less crowded part of the River Walk.

Love this place. So many opportunities to take art classes for all ages and all levels. Wonderful student exhibits. A real asset to the community of the arts. Instructors are awesome!
