“Beautiful Mission San Jose”
Reviewed September 12, 2008

We took the On & Off Trolley to Mission San Jose. Beautiful! The history is so interesting. A park ranger will take you on a free tour that lasts about an hour. If you're lucky enough to visit on a Sunday you can attend a mass in the church.

“Do all the missions”
Reviewed August 10, 2008

We rented a car and drove to all the missions. Did them all in one day. Great trip. Mission San Jose has a visitor center. We choose to walk around by ourselves because with the tour it just took way too long. They have lots of school groups and explain to them in detail every little thing. It is real easy to do by yourself.

“wow, really nice!”
Reviewed June 16, 2008

I took the local bus ($1.00) out to see the mission. Fantastic. It's a large site and they restored it well. Lots of informative signage and the tourist center is really set up nicely too. Blew the Alamo away! The gift shop had a lot of nice books on the old missions too. It's definately a must see while in san antonio.

Excellent, informative and interesting. If you only see one mission, see this one. Make sure you see the video presentation in the Information Centre.

“Interesting time!”
Reviewed May 27, 2008

I love to visit historical sites, and this was a very interesting place to visit. It is much larger than I originally thought, and I learned a lot about mission life in Texas in the 1700's. I wish they would tell you more about what parts of the mission are original and which parts have been "remodeled", but all in all, it was a great experience, and I recommend it to others!
